I want to like this place. I can understand the no laptops in the window, and no strollers inside policies, it's to create a specific atmosphere. But I came in a few minutes before close, waited in line until a few minutes after close, and then they told me they can't make a pour-over because they are closed. But their hours are not posted outside, and the door was propped open, and I came in several minutes before, the barista was just busy with other customers. They told me they could make me something form the espresso machine though, which I thought was weird... basically the barista didn't want to clean the pour-over setup. Ok, fine. But they don't have non-dairy milk, and I'm allergic to milk. This is silly, considering how there are special barista milks out there that work well, and every cafe uses. So I ordered an americano. The barista rang me up quickly, and didn't ask which espresso I wanted it made with, or tell me which they were using that day or anything if there isn't a choice, but since they have multiple espressos on display, you would think there would be a choice...? And then the americano was terrible, had no cream on top, was served to me in a paper cup that gave off a weird flavor, and it tasted obviously salty, like the grind size was horribly off. The two stars are for the decor, because honestly it's really cute in there, but I'm not going to be...
Read moreThey coffee is great, but the service is eventually very disappointing.
I use to go there at least once per week, but after many different weird situations with the service I decided to stop going there.
Yesterday it happened to me that I arrived at 17:50, I ordered a coffee, and it was more expensive than usuallu, but I was in a hurry so I didn't ask. When the barista gave me my coffee this was in a paper cup. I told him that it was wrong because I didn't ordered it to take away, to that he replied "we are closing in 10 minutes, so we serve it to take away".
Why no one told me that before to order the coffee? Maybe I would have like to go to a place in which I don'd have to pay 3,50€ to drink from a paper cup. Yes, 3,50 is the price for a coffee to take away, almost an euro more expensive that the normal one (even if you don't want one of those) Aren't 10 minutes not time enough to drink a single coffee?
As I said...this is not the first time that I have had an awkward situations with this super cool hype baristas crew. So now I have decided to find another place around the corner where I can get a coffee treated with a bit more of respect, but all of us know that in Mitte area is a challenge to get a good coffee without running into this super cool...
Read moreTheir online delivery experience before the holidays in 2024 was utterly appalling and left me completely dissatisfied, resulting in a financial loss.
Update: they came back to me and send the correct order after the new years holiday. This was a nice move, which nullifies the negative experience described below. Do order online.
I strongly advise against ordering online from them. My order was infamously delayed, sitting for over 10 days without a single attempt to send my package. And when it finally did, it was ensnared in logistics issues—an inconvenience that could have been avoided if they had sent it on time.
To add insult to injury, they sent four boxes of Brazil instead of the Ethiopia I had ordered. The boxes reeked of cat pee, and the drip bags themselves were stale. The quality was abysmal. It seemed as though they were clearing their warehouse for 2025, and I was left to foot the bill for this mess.
I am utterly repulsed by the Brasil drip bags they sent. I am baffled as to why they failed to send the Ethiopia I ordered.
This was completely unacceptable and unprofessional. Do not order online or subscribe unless you are prepared to endure the stench of cat pee in your kitchen cabinet and a...
