Had wanted to check this place out for over a year, and ended up being quite disappointed. The food was fine - objectively nothing wrong with it - but not a single thing was great. The venue itself is great, the outside seating was closed when we went, but even the inside has a modern rustic aesthetic and is quite cozy.

The thing that ruined the experience was the service, which was somewhere between passive aggressive, poor, to weird. We were taken to our table on the second floor, before we sat down we commented on the fact that it was incredibly warm - hoping to be able to open a window. The server rolled his eyes and looked extremely angry. After a few “Müssen sie wissen” from him, he took us to a different table on the ground floor. Then when ordering, one of my guests asked if the pork was “gebacken” to which the answer was “yes” and the guest explained that he couldn’t eat carbohydrates so that wasn’t an option, and the service response was “Schwein hat keine Kohlenhydrate” - It didn't helped that the same server came back 5 minutes later and asked that same guest if he wanted bread with his meal. There were other things, like abruptly interrupting the conversation which just added to the unpleasant experience.

However, one thing we really appreciated was that the kitchen was willing to serve one of the side dishes of the mains as a side dish in itself. We appreciated the flexibility.

For context, all guests were native German speakers so unfortunately a misunderstanding doesn’t explain the quality of the service. In all, I most likely won’t be taking guests here again - unless possibly for a refreshing drink in...

My wife and I went there for our anniversary dinner. We were hoping for a sincere, quality evening and also wanted to explore the gourmet side of Berlin. We weren’t looking for anything overly fancy, but definitely didn’t want anything too casual either. This place turned out to be more than perfect — from the food to the atmosphere, the service, and the overall experience. Whether you're celebrating something special or just want a great evening out, it really delivers.

The food was incredible. Candy on Bone is a must-try — absolutely delicious. The salmon was also fantastic. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients, and the chef’s touch brings a modern twist to traditional flavors. The dishes aren’t overly complicated, but they’re beautifully done. I also strongly recommend the burrata and the scallops. The Potato Celery Tart is definitely worth tasting too.

The ambiance, both inside and out in the garden, is fabulous. If the weather’s good, I’d definitely suggest getting a table in the garden — just note that outdoor dining is only allowed until 22:00 due to the residential area. After that, you can move inside and enjoy the rest of the evening with some of their amazing cocktails. Seriously, don’t skip the cocktails — they’re crafted really well and worth trying.

One last note: it’s not a cheap place. But they do have the menu available online, so you can check it out beforehand. It’s a high-end restaurant, and it truly earns that label. It’s not overpriced — the quality matches the price, and it’s absolutely worth it. You won’t be...

Most of the things people praise here are more or less true except food was not very tasty and service was rather slow. Since it has such a high rating, I was all the more disappointed by the quality of food and service.

Ordered lamb with other 3 people and the portion was just ok, not generous at all. It was ridiculously tasteless. It's true that it is very soft and easy to eat but even with the special sauce they provided, none of us really could appreciate the rich taste of lamb... The pork, which my colleague ordered, was much better than lamb. The last time I went, I ordered the salmon, and it was soso as well... Some of the starters are very good but it cannot cover up the disappointment over the main dishes.

The service was very professional at the beginning but as the restaurant got busier, it got really slow. There was only one person takin orders from all the customers on 1st floor (80-90% occupancy). Our reservation was supposed to be for 2 hours but we didn't not have any food for the first 1 hour... Also there wasn't much of greetings or assistance with retrieving coats when leaving the place. I don't call it a good service in particular. Its OK standard service in Berlin and it could be better.

Overall, if this place was rated more moderately around 4 star, it feels right. While it is still a nice nest restaurant with fairly reasonable price for its ambience/branding, I don't think this place lives up to 4.5 star reputation on Google maps to be honest. Hope they can improve and matches its quality to...

Note: I have updated this review with respect to how courteous of a reply they had to the original raw review. The feed back has been received, thus I'm writing a much lighter review. Arriving at the beautiful building was quite impressive, the staff were extremely welcoming and the resturant beautiful. We had the family style dinner, it was a bit hard to hear our server at times, but the starting cocktails were exceptional, unsure what they were, but they were great. The initial starters were great, well executed though hard to figure out what exactly the cuisine is. Odd mix of dishes. The pumpkin soup is amazing, but the mains for me were very disappointing. The signature, while can be broken down with two forks, it's more a crumble than a fall apart braise. Though this could be what's considered tender in Germany. The desert was also interesting, though odd still. A sort of shaved ice with toppings, similar to Kakigōri shaved ice in Japan. Cocktails again exceptional. The team care deeply about the resturant, I personally found the menu confusing and unbalanced. With certain items ruining my time. I will say I'm very critical of meat bring South African, so it's unlikely that others would have the same experience as me.
