Papaya is one of the my favorite Thai restaurant in Thailand. I'm not too sure if this is the same restaurant, but when I passed by this restaurant in Berlin, I thought may be interesting to have a meal here. About the restaurant : The place is quite small, not recommend for big group to have meal here, it has a break time between 4pm to 5pm, but if you ordered food before that, you can still seat there and slowly enjoy your delicious meal.
About the meal : The meal really amazed me, I ordered 114. Gaeng Kiau wan chicken curry, the coconut taste is quite strong and really bring out the sweetness of the curry. The bowl look quite small but it's actually good amount of food to finish. It has a small candle set in the bottom keep heating up the curry so you can really slowly enjoy the meal and no worry for the food gets cold. I highly recommend if you ever passed by here, must come in and have a seat. You won't regret to have some...
Read morePapaya just is a small restaurant just adjacent to Winterfeldplatz. It's easily reachable from U Nollendorfplatz. The place serves the best and authentic Thai food in Berlin! The staff is quite friendly and food is good too. I was happy to get Rose Lassi in Berlin for the first time! The ambience is good and accommodates about 20-30 people at once. There's still something I didn't like about the place at all for which I'm giving a star less. We were having a discussion over lunch when suddenly they said that we have to leave by 16:00 as it is there cleaning time. Well, I totally understand that but when the guests are in between meal they should atleast wait or maybe not let us in in the first place. That was quite rude. All together, I wanna go back again but will make sure I go before 16...
Read moreConflicted about leaving this review here but after being a huge fan of their Boxi branch, this was completely disappointing. The food served here is not on par with the other branch at all. The service is also quite bland, like they don't really seem to care. Food: fried tofu in our dishes wasn't fresh and lacked flavor, food was served within minutes of ordering = not freshly made, pad ki mao had missing ingredients and the flavor was different too :/
Overall, I'd recommend you to try them out at Boxi to have your mind blown and you'd totally just skip this...
