we were in this restaurant on friday the 7th of june 2024. It was for our 5 year anniversary and I wanted something different. I have seen a lot of youtube videos giving praise to the Georgian cuisine and I wanted to see what the hype was all about. I noticed that this cuisine uses a lot of Koriander and my husband is one of those people that can not stand the taste of fresh koriander so I called before to ask if that could be left out or if that was a must. The lady on the phone assured me that would not be any trouble. So we went there. We had 2 housewines the white ones . LOVED THEM. Georgia has a big whine history and I liked what I tasted. We choose the special " Supra" for us both. That is a kind of best of georgian cuisine. A feast on your table. To be honest, I am always a bit sceptical to food and I really want the food to taste extraordinary, so I was sceptical when the first entrees were served. It was a bread filled with cheese, and some round things with different tastes. First bite of that filled bread,.............OMG , what the hell is this? It is so good, why is this so amazing? I was thinking some sort of cheese tosti, but NO, It is Devine. on to those round balls, Let me warn you, if you want a taste explosion in your mouth, take a bite of those balls. We were both going insane with taste pleasure. we NEVER tasted anything like that before. and there were 5 or 6 different ones , all with a specific taste pallet. try to smear the ball things with that cheesy bread and go to heaven. Down it with the wine and go to double heaven. e were just looking at each other, what the FXXXCK is going on? My mouth just wants more . then the main course came. A sort of chicken dish ( INSANE TASTE) garlick galore , omg I loved it, then there was this porc dish that I have been dreaming of ever since. Could this be my new favorite cuisine??? now to the first down from the menu. The tomato /eggplant dish. Now to be honest, it tasted really good, but because the rest is beyond amazing, this dish is falling behind. Even though it is really amazing, but the rest is just dropping taste bombs in my mouth that it seems to be "just" really nice. on to our second glass of wine, and to dessert. Dessert was nice, ice cream and a cake thing. but this was an experience. The 2 ladies who worked there were very friendly. I can just say. GO THERE!!!!! bring toothbtrush and loads of chewing gum if you want to go out after that, because you can kills vampires from a distance with the garlick breath. But omg it is so worth it. Georgian food it the best EVER!!, and this restaurant just made a regular client. I give 5 out of 5 . Do yourself a favor and eat there. you can...
Read moreI was quite excited to come here for the set menu but I have to say I'm a little disappointed. The set menu was 32 euro per person and for this price I expect an above average experience.
The first course was a cheese bread with a cucumber and tomato salad and a series of pesto-like dips/spreads.
The cheese bread was fantastic, hands down my favorite part of the meal. The cucumber tomato salad was fresh and pleasant but as an entre for a meal at this price point, lackluster. The dips were palatable, but not to the level that I would ever order them again.
Second course was chicken in a garlic cream sauce, pork, and a vegetable stew. To start with, the pork was overcooked and rather bland. It had the consistency of microwaved pork. I'm sure it was not microwaved, but that's what the end result tasted like. The chicken was good in the sense that smothering chicken in cream, butter and garlic is good, but not particularly impressive. The vegetable stew was rather bland; a dish without much life to it.
Dessert was a fruit tart and ice cream. Again, not very impressed here. It was reminiscent of a meal you might find in a buffet. Fine, but for the price point disappointing.
Overall, I didn't feel like the set menu demonstrated much culinary prowess. I didn't leave feeling like someone had professionally cooked my meal, I left feeling like I'd received the items that took as little effort as possible to prepare.
I must say that the service was great. The atmosphere was also...
Read moreUsed to be one of my favorite restaurants in Berlin, but unfortunately the new waitresses don’t seem to like working there. Also, they don’t know how to welcome, treat and talk to their guests. Never again!
After reading your reply I just want to add this here: We did not say that and we did not insist on sitting there. The table wasn’t even reserved. All the neighboring tables were reserved, yes, but we sat down on a table without a “Reserved” sign. So, please stop lying. You’re probably afraid of either losing your job or reputation, but we did not react that way. We got to your restaurant and sat down on a table for 4 people - that’s right. It then took 10 minutes for you to even notice us. You came over to us and you didn’t even say “Hi” or anything. Instead you just talked to us in a very unwelcoming and extremely unfriendly manner (“How many people are you? This table is too large for two people. You have to sit there!”). You then asked us whether we wanted something to drink. My boyfriend replied: “Wir müssen noch kurz überlegen“. That’s it! We didn’t insist at all to sit down on a table for 4 people, we would have changed tables… but we did not want to be treated like unwelcoming guests, so we decided to leave. We just didn’t feel welcome at all. After that we just left, that’s right, we didn’t say anything, just left - but I don’t need to feel sorry about leaving after not having felt welcomed as a guest at...
