Our group of 3 arrived late on a Sunday night to find the restaurant full with jolly and satisfied clients and a very kind welcome from our hosts. To put it shortly and if you wish to read no longer, our experience was wonderful and the food was utterly and absolutely delicious. It is a rare feat to find a traditional, spicy, and home-feeling Indian restaurant in Berlin. It has been found. Amongst the highlights: our lovely waitress who was of great advice in choosing the dishes (and level of spice ....!). The atmosphere, quiet but filled with diners like ourselves, extending their stay as they dip "one last time" their naan in the few leftover drops of daal. The amazing smell as you step inside. And of course, the dishes. The onion bhaji and samosas were excellent, so well seasoned and not doughy as they tend to be, with plenty of sauces to balance the whole. The palak paneer was fresh, with a chewy-soft paneer like never before; even the bright green colour was mouth-watering. Other tested (and devoured) dishes were the house "seven spice" biryani, totally scrumptious, a spark of flavours; the chicken madras, a bomb to the mouth; and the (garlic) naan, quite simply the best I've had the chance to taste, light and smoky. In sum, a gem, for the neighbourhood and for the city. Thank you for...
Read moreI was craving Indian food while on a recent stay in Berlin and this restaurant surpassed all of my expectations! Everything I ordered tasted phenomenal and, as a vegetarian, I had a ton of options. I started with vegetable samosas which came with a wonderfully spicy chutney that contained all of the heat I had been missing while traveling away from my home state of New Mexico.
From there I had the Shahi Paneer and garlic naan. The flavor of the shahi paneer was so rich and deep while containing a creaminess that was a nice contrast to the spicy chutney I'd just eaten. And really what's not to love about garlic naan? I was so full but I literally could not stop eating because the food was so phenomenal.
The staff was warm and delightful – the restaurant was busy but they still made time for conversation when they came to the table – I felt very cared for and was even delighted to be surprised with delicious mango schnapps at the end of the meal.
I don't know when I will return to Berlin but I do know that whenever I return I will most certainly make sure to visit Seven Spices again. Thanks for making my last night in Berlin a...
Read moreWas here for new years with prior reservation. It is a small, cozy restaurant with tables that were too small and very close to eachother. The service personnel were nice, and the food was good. Reason for 3 stars is because we were there at 19:30 and our order was taken roughly within 15/20min but we received our food only by 21:30 which is just not acceptable. The only compensation that was offered as an apology for something so bad was one papad. Having past experience in this industry I and my husband choose to not complain n reason this delay for maybe some unforeseen circumstances in the kitchen or something like that but it was getting frustrating when people who came after us were complaining about wanting for 1 hr for their food while we had still not received ours and after such a long wait, we were running out of patience. We barely spent 20mins eating our food because it got too late and we just had it packed. Though it could have been a good experience for us since the reviews made us expect it, it was just too disappointing to see how we were made to wait and how the whole 2 hr delay was handled...
