I bought takeaway food for 2 people from this place on 4 Sep 2021. And before you send us a lawyer letter stating I have not been there, I paid with my card and I can provide the details of the transaction.
My fiancé received a letter from a lawyer from Portofino via Google in which she is asked to provide proof for actually being a customer here, for the 2 star review she left and proof for her opinion on the food. We have proof of payment for that day and I’m very curious to know what proof can someone provide for an OPINION on the food? Taking samples and doing a laboratory analysis? This is a joke.
Instead of asking how you can do better, you send these letters so we are forced to remove our reviews in order not to damage your reputation. This is such a bad way to take care of your customers.
The bottom line is that we had high expectations from this place, but in our opinion the food was below average.
The tagliatelle con pollo had a smell of uncooked pasta (cannot record proof of smell) and the taste was below average compared to what we ate at different Italian restaurants (an opinion cannot and should not be conditioned by providing a proof).
This was the first time and the last time we had anything to eat from here. I will definitely not recommend this...
Read moreThis dining experience made me emotional. Without exaggeration, this is likely the best restaurant I’ve ever been to in my life. Price was right. Service was exceptional. Food was excellent. Ambiance was lovely (minus the cigarette smoke while sitting outside).
My friends and I were visiting Berlin was the US. We came across this restaurant on Google and decided to give it a go. At the door, we were immediately greeted and seated inside on a candle-lit table. The table had water, olives, and bread at no charge. The server, who’s English was limited, took our order, and the food came out quickly.
Everyone in our group thought the food was excellent. After getting the check, our server brought us each a glass of limoncello which quite literally left us with a sweet taste the rest of the night.
We enjoyed our experience so much that we decided to return two nights later (for context, we only stayed in the city for five nights). This time, we had an even better experience. We each got entrees and desserts. We all got two glasses of limoncello this time, and we left the restaurant laughing at how much we enjoyed the restaurant. If my city had a place like Restaurant Trattoria Portofino, I’d go every week, without exaggeration.
In short, just go. You don’t be...
Read moreWe went to this Italian restaurant on a early evening for dinner. It is located in a neighbourhood and is very calm and quiet
We sat on a table facing the park and we’re greeted very well by the staff, all were very kind and helpful.
To begin they give a small portion of complimentary green olives. Upon request they also gave bread with olive oil and balsamic.
We ordered the minestrone which was perfectly balanced in flavour and good portion, and the insalata frutti Di mar, salad, which I personally would not recommend as it was a little unappetising and lacked any flavour. Portion was also very poor.
We also ordered the caprese salad which was a barge ball of mozzarella surrounded with tomatoes and basil, delicious!
We got the spaghetti pomodoro which was delicious and just the right amount of spicy.
We ended the meal with a cassata icecream,
We loved this experience and meal would definitely recommend...
