My friend and I came here last Friday for a drink. I came later so I texted my friend to open the door for me. As soon as I stepped in, a waiter (blond, middle part hair) sprinted and pushed me out of the way to come yell at my friend "For future reference, I open the door". He did not even excuse or apologize me for pushing me out of the way. This is NO way to treat a woman, yet a female customer. We understand normally incoming guests should ring the bell upfront but still! Another couple who came earlier at the bar noticed this and even reached out to us to say, he was very rude to them too. During the whole time we were there, another nicer waiter came to serve us and the rude waiter was behind the bar to prepare drinks but we did not feel comfortable. The whole time he made very loud noises and jokes with other guys. The other couple left quickly afterwards and we also left after our first drinks. We came here couple of times but this time we were really surprised by this person. Everything else was fine but this basically ruined our impression. Our favourite bar now became less attractive. I would have given only 1 star, but the nicer waiter made our evening a bit less...
Read moreAfter sampling all cocktail bars around Nollendorfplatz my verdict is: Stagger Lee rates highly for the interesting mix of 'classy/alternative/saloon' atmosphere (all at the same time, difficult to describe) and cocktail quality (the French 75 being my standard drink), together with the Green Door nearby (conveniently located just around the corner). Stagger Lee has more of a 'saloon' feel to it, so probably a better choice in particular for groups - and if you want to have a good (but not too crazy) night out.
In some sense a mix of the life of the Victoria bar (but more 'decent') with the leather sofas of the Lebensstern. The Stagger Lee has probably the most 'understated courtesy' barkeepers though - quiet, efficient, and if you need something (say more water) they will just help you without many (or even any) words. I was quite impressed by this part at Stagger Lee I have to say, you really feel welcome in an...
Read moreWe ordered Frida Kahlo for €15 and Tower (from their Fall Season selection) for €14. I liked my cocktail (Frida) but my husband was not impressed by his drink.
The place is really cozy with large leather couches & dimmed lights. We were sitting by the window and there was a little shelf under the table to put your coats bags and stuff - I like it but it occupies the leg room. They have both smoke friendly and smoke free rooms, as non smokers we appreciate that freedom of choice in Berlin 😄music is not that loud, you can hear each other which is a really important factor for me when choosing a place for a date night 🤍
I suggest you to make a reservation in advance if possible because we couldn’t secure a place in our first try...
