The service was good. Everything came out pretty quickly. The biggest problem was the issue of ingredients on the Holy Pope bratwurst. I ordered this and the listing said; mozzarella, spicy tomato, pesto, rocket (which I asked to be left off), and dried olives on a whole grain bun. I took maybe three bites and had an allergic reaction. I’m allergic to cashews and pistachios and I don’t know if I reacted to something unknowingly due to a new allergy development or if something they put in the food had nuts. If the second theory is the case they need to do better about listing what’s in the food to make sure that someone doesn’t order this by accident. I ended up going to the hospital and all is well now, not blaming the restaurant because there’s now way they could have known something like that might happen. But also want to make sure people know in case there are traces of nuts in that meal. Overall it’s a nice atmosphere and friendly staff, as well as good beer. Just wanted to make anyone who is looking into this place aware of...
Read moreVEGAN HOT DOG REVIEW: The "hipster vegan hot dog" was one of the priciest, but the ingredients looked so promising (peanut butter sauce, guaca, sweet potatoes...) i risked it and ordered. Spending 9 Euros I expected a very good quality hot dog full of flavourful ingredients, but it was terrible. There was a carrot instead of vegan sausage, which would be good if well done (carrot is a common vegan hot dog ingredient / sausage replacement), but this one was just a basic steam cooked carrot with no flavour or spices on it. The rest of the ingredients was very dismal. A few little cubes of sweet potatoes, almost no avocado, no flavour. I was beyond disappointed. Basically it was a flavourless carrot in a bun with a few veggies fling on it. For the price 1/10. One of the employees told me it was a new recipe and that they couldn't find any good quality vegan sausages, but i still think they can make this carrot recipe much better if they improve it A LOT and - most importantly - bring...

The biggest downside for us was that the price seems quite high for what you get. For reference, a nice kebab in Berlin will run you anywhere between 5-7 euros. It’s accessible, tasty and loaded with meat and veggies. Yet a hot dog at The Big Dog can be anywhere between €7,50 to a whooping €14,00 for the Berlin Cheesesteak. That’s not including a side, which their fries are delicious, but they will run you anywhere between €6-8.
That being said, they do have a lunch special from Monday to Friday. For €11,90 you can get the hot dog of the week, French fries and a small drink.
Overall, the food was tasty, just a bigger sausage would be nice. You get more bread than...
