Update: I gave them many chances since it was good and i went there from they opened. Kitchen obviously changed, recipe changed. It was just so bad. I ordered rice noodles, they cook too long, it came like porridge. I asked to make new, noodle was good but sauce and broth was so disappointing. I gave up. I ate a little and told to the waitress, the noodles was bad, what happened. She saids “sorry, we changed the menu maybe sauce has changed.” Thx for explaining. And i will stop support them.

5y ago: Its def not an authentic sichuan ramen restaurant but they adapt the taste of people and cook it right for them. I go for “sichuan” spicy then its real hot.

Cozy atmosphere for sure. Their teas are also good. Just appetizers are time to time over cooked. But...

One of the best spicy noodles I’ve ever eaten in the world. It’s Sichuan flavors with some modern presentation added. I’ve been coming here for 4 years as I live right next door. Customer service is always friendly and prompt. I always order the Allium which is very nice grilled tofu with cumin and chill oil and I always order the Capsi which is similar to a Dan Dan noodles. They had a much larger menu before Covid and I miss their sour potato noodle soup which is no longer on the menu. Also they underwent some renovations so they have a much larger outdoor seating space now (yay!) as well as bar stools surrounding this large high top bath tub table that makes the restaurant feel significantly smaller (bad!). Overall, food and service are great and I...

I visited The Tree with my toddler son and came out 100% satisfied with the customer service. When we first entered the restaurant, waiters and waitresses were smiling politely and guided us inside. A waitress who served us was very caring that she asked which food was ordered for my son so that she could adjust the chilli sauce. She brought the food and reminded it was hot that I should keep it distant from my son. Later when we were eating, she brought extra napkins to our table because she knows how it is to eat with toddler alone in a restaurant. I have never felt and received this kind of considerate act from a service business after I moved to Berlin many months ago. Not particularly for the food, but i would def come back to...

The Tree serves Sichuan-style noodles, both dry and in soups, and then hipsters them up a little (avocado???). Had the dry noodles with sesame and peanut paste and hot chili oil. "Please let us know if you prefer things spicy", it said on the menu. I let them know, fully expecting the usual Europeans-can't-handle-their-chillis factor. What I got instead was properly spicy and oh so satisfying! The noodles were perfectly cooked and al dente, the oily, nutty sauce very well balanced. I also got some radishes in chili/Sichuan peppercorn on the side. Enjoyed them just as much. Left the place with a numb mouth and very happy.

This place is absolutely lovely. I had been a few years ago and today was so so pleasantly surprised by how high the quality is here. We had the spicy mushrooms and the calendula potatoes both of which were balanced, flavourful and unique. We had the spicy wantan soup which had a light but flavourful broth and lots of wantons inside. And lastly, the mapo tofu noodles were filled with lovely fresh vegetables and excellent noodles; they were cooked super well and tasted wonderful, coated fully in the really delicious sauce. It had the taste of classic ma po tofu but with a modern and fresh spin. Loved it so much!
