I cannot give enough stars to Tipsy Bear's Holy Karaoke hosted by the incomparable Jesús!
It's one of the most cheerful experiences you will get to do - a space where everybody is so supported to give their best, most life-affirming performance singing, dancing, and yes, even lip synching - so that you can still show your spirit in case you do not have the vocal chords of an Aretha Franklin but still want to do the song and do it justice!
That Jesús starts the evenings with the 7 rules of Holy Karaoke is one of my favorite things, and I suspect I am not the only one. Regulars (who are a big part of the evenings, and give some of the most inspired performances) seem to enjoy them too, as they set the tone for what's to come: an array of spirited and diverse acts – from flamboyant renditions to more subdued interpretations, hitting the pitch perfectly or venturing into the realm of less-than-perfect vocals. All this is accompanied by an abundance of affection and laughter exchanged among the participants and the lovely Tipsy Bear...
Read moreI cannot say enough good things about Tipsy Bear. It is my favourite bar in Berlin. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and accepted by the incredibly diverse and inclusive community that this bar creates. People are super friendly and seem very genuine in creating connections. It's truly refreshing to be in an environment where everyone feels free to be themselves and express their individuality without fear of judgment or discrimination. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is lively and fun.
But the real star of the show is the karaoke! Jesús is absolutely amazing and creates a safe and encouraging space for anyone who wants to get up and sing. Its more like a sing-along, with everyone singing all night long. It's honestly the best karaoke I've ever experienced, and I've been to a lot of karaoke bars!!
If you're looking for a welcoming and vibrant queer community with fantastic karaoke, look no further than Tipsy Bear. I can't recommend it...
Read moreAs my husband and I arrived on Saturday around midnight, they started to close the terrace. But the barman Dean was so nice and kept on servicing us drinks outside. We wanted to get inside but it was full (as per COVID restrictions) because every body must be seated. Another bar helper, Michael (really amazing Irish guy) told us that he will inform us as soon as 2 seats become available, so we didn't need to queue in front of the entrance and could enjoy our drinks on the street. When we are finally seated inside (6 € admission fees for 2 pax), the drag queen show started. The atmosphere was great, people there were great, easy to engage conversations with. Very friendly. Michael came to us several times and made sure yhat everything is ok. He even offered us 3 times a shot. Wow... Rarely see that generosity in a bar. We had an amazing night in that bar and strongly recommend it. We will be back for sure. Thank you guys. Auf...
