If you are a connoisseur of fine dining and are seeking an extraordinary Italuan culinary experience, To The Bone is an absolute must-visit. Nestled in the heart of Berlin, this establishment offers a perfect blend of Italian charm and robust steakhouse flavors, making it a standout destination for steak lovers.
From the moment you walk in, the warm, inviting atmosphere sets the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The decor exudes elegance with its rustic accents and soft ambient lighting, creating a cozy yet sophisticated ambiance.
The star of the show is undoubtedly their dry-aged steak. Each cut is meticulously aged to perfection, resulting in a rich, concentrated flavor that is both robust and nuanced. The steak is seared to a perfect crust on the outside while remaining tender and juicy on the inside (medium rare). The attention to detail in the preparation and cooking of the steak is evident in every bite, making it a true masterpiece that melts in your mouth.
Equally impressive are the truffle mashed potatoes, a side dish that elevates the meal to new heights. Creamy, smooth, and infused with the earthy aroma of truffles, these mashed potatoes are a decadent delight. The truffle flavor is perfectly balanced, enhancing the richness of the potatoes without overpowering them. It’s a side dish that could easily stand alone but pairs beautifully with the steak, creating a harmonious symphony of flavors. We went there three times cause we can’t get enough of it!!
Beyond the culinary delights, the service is exemplary. The staff is knowledgeable, attentive, and passionate about ensuring each guest has a memorable experience. Their recommendations are spot-on, and they go above and beyond to cater to individual preferences and...
Read moreMy friends and I decided that we were going to Berlin for NYE and we needed a good place to go to for dinner prior to going out. We came across this place on OpenTable. They were charging a 155 euro prix fixe dinner. We ran into a bit of an issue with our hotel that delayed our arrival for our 8:30 reservation. I asked my front desk attendant at the hotel to call on our behalf letting the restaurant know about our issue and the restaurant was more than willing to accommodate us.
We arrived and was greeted by one of the employee "welcome my guests from Virginia" I stated, "how did you know I was from VA?" He responded, "you are my only reservation that is left that hadn't arrived yet". Some may find that encounter odd, I however; appreciate the attention to detail. I am sure they receive people from all over and he decided to remember my home location.
Once inside we continued to receive more than accommodating service. Everyone was so nice. My friends and I had a short window on time so we asked if they could speed up our service so that we can make our next reservation on time. Even though it was our hotel's fault as to why we were late, they were still more than accommodating to us.
Now onto the food. The dinner was a 6-courses and nothing was a miss. All of the courses were prepared very well and the presentation was nice. Drinks were top tier. They are a steakhouse and needless to say everyone in my group loves a good well prepared steak and they did not miss the bar. The temperature was perfect with a nice crusty sear on the outside. I will definitely recommend this place to friends and will return on my next trip back to Berlin.
To the waiters, hosts, bartenders, and owners thank you for a...
Read moreThere was no wine list on the table so we had to ask for it, which was a bit strange as it was brought to everyone else’s table who were seated after us. Maybe they forgot, maybe we don’t look like wine people. I don’t know. Anyway, we chose glasses of Valpollicella (6,5 for 100ml). We opted for the bistecca panzanese (“perfect cut for two”) - it was absolutely delicious. We shared a 380g steak because we didn’t want to go too meat crazy, but we absolutely could have chosen and finished a larger cut. The steak was cooked perfectly to order. Comes with delicious soft bread and olive oil. We also ordered the anchovy butter on toast, which had a great flavour. We thought the side dishes and antipasti were very overpriced compared to other Berlin restaurants of a similar standard. The red neon lighting inside is awful for taking pictures of steaks and other food so don’t even bother. The service was good - competent and friendly, until we had finished eating and wanted to get the bill. We tried several times to make eye contact but the waiters ignored us in favour of serving every other diner. Had to resort to putting my hand up to attract attention, which I hate doing because it’s considered pretty rude. We asked for the bill, waited another few minutes, had to ask again and then waited for the card machine to be brought over. I don’t know why this is such a common problem in Berlin restaurants. Everyone is so attentive until you need to pay and leave, and then you are treated as an invisible customer. Apart from this, it was a good experience, and I’d recommend it if you are missing a decent steak in Berlin, and would like a fancy...
