Kitty Cheng Bar — Restaurant in Berlin

I went to the door, bouncer was letting in every Tom, Dick and Harry. All white guys, looks at me and my brown Indian skin and shakes his head. I’m dressed well as well, so I ask him why? He doesn’t respond and just shakes his head. I move to the side and he keeps letting other people in. All white. Absolutely sickening, first time I’ve experienced racism at this level in a club in Europe and I’ve travelled extensively across Europe. Funny thing, a guy around me in line was also alone, South African (I can hear an accent), wearing a jeans slightly lighter then mine, was let in without a second thought. Did I mention that he was white?...

I went here the other night with a friend. A man in the bar was blatantly racist towards me (I’m half Chinese-American). I told the bar tender and all she did was say that she’ll tell the bouncer to look out for him. We left right after that so I’m not sure if anything actually came out of that. Be careful. I’ve never experienced such blatant racism in my life. Additionally, the drinks were over priced. We had to pay €15 to get in. The music was giving 2017...

Ich hab das Kitty Cheng vor Corona geliebt, vor allem für seine Musik. Hier gab es deep Black Music, oft auch Klassiker aus den 90ern. Ich habe eine Woche gebraucht um zu verarbeiten was mir hier letzte Woche Samstag passiert ist. Mein Freund und ich wollten ins Kitty Cheng. Aus dem Uber zum Eingang, "zweimal bitte". Der Türsteher, ein Araber, guckt mich an, guckt hinter mich einmal kurz in das Gesicht meines Freundes, lehnt sich, ich will sagen, angewidert zurück und sagt: "Wir sind voll". Mein Freund ist ein äthiopischer Jude aus Israel. Das Kitty Cheng war nicht voll, Freunde von uns waren drinnen, die haben uns gesagt "es ist nicht voll, kommt vorbei". Direkt vor uns wurde ein Mädchen abgewiesen, weil sie den Eintritt nicht zahlen wollte, nicht weil es voll war. Er hat meinem Freund einmal kurz ins Gesicht geschaut und eine rassistische Entscheidung getroffen, ein Araber, dessen Eltern vielleicht als Flüchtlinge aus dem Libanon kamen und hier aufgenommen wurden. Mein Freund ist Ingenieur, nicht dass das hier wichtig wäre. Auf meinen Hinweis zum AGG kommentierte der Türsteher: "Da steht doch auch ein Schwarzer, den wir reingelassen haben."
