Average experience unfortunately. First, it seems very haphazard in terms of service. To order or to pay, you need to wait around 15-20 minutes. We also saw German couples wait just inside the door, waiting to be seated, and giving up in frustration, and seating themselves on tables with people already on them. Inside, it is actually very hot, with quite little ventilation.
From a food point of view, the things we ordered were average. The summer rolls were mostly rice noodles inside, with a little lettuce and a sliver of chicken. One side of the rice paper wrapping of each of the rolls was rather dried out as if it had been made quite a long time ago and the summer rolls themselves were rather tough .
The "beef" pho was in a very light chicken stock with some spring onions and coriander. Unfortunately, it didn't have much flavour other than chicken stock. There were no bean sprouts, no other herbs of any kind, no fresh chilli. (In the photo in the menu, you could see some fresh chilli, some mint). The beef was not rare (which generally is preferred) but seemed to have been cooked in the stock. The pho itself was a chicken noodle soup with a bit of beef in it and didn't much to do with a pho unfortunately.
The whole experience was okay, but with the great choice you have of Vietnamese in Germany, one can...
Read moreVery rude service. Food just ok. I asked if they spoke English as I entered and the answer was "yes". However they did not speak a word, and I have no german other than the very basic courtesy phrases, so we were deemed to not understanding each other. We tried to order pho, which is soup in any of the many countries were we have enjoyed it. But they had some "pho xao" that seems to be just noodles, without soup. When the food came (we had ordered 2, only one come) i tried to explain that we wanted the soup, so that at least the second one would be what we had tried to order. The man started shouting, and pointing at the menu, very aggresively saying, i guess, this is what we had ordered. We finally managed to get the soup for the second order, but there was no apology or even a nice gester, only shouting. I understand he brought what we ordered, our mistake, but if he had been honest and said he didnt speak English we would have walked to another place or looked up for a translation before ordering. The shouting and extremely bad manners is, however, unacceptable.
The food was just ok. Portions are really big, which makes the prices fair and probably even very good value, but the pho xao was nothing to write home about, nor...
Read moreI ate in this "restaurant" if you can say restaurant... decent food without salt and taste... all mixed up without giving a good taste to the dish... i asked for a change of dish for a wrong order, but we weren't allowed to do it, if you care about the customer you do it, but i see that in this "restaurant" the customer is just a money holder. All in all I advise you not to go to eat in this restaurant.. Waitress at the tables not very kind. from the kitchen you can hear people talk constantly and can disturb the seated...
