May May — Restaurant in Bonn

This is my fifth time coming to May May after almost 7 years of living in Bonn, but sadly each time I am only disappointed with the taste and serving size especially after discovering another Vietnamese restaurant Mam-Mam in Königstraße. Today is probably the last straw, because not only was the taste still underwhelming but the staff were a bit weird, the bringing us dessert that looked like a freebie, taking it away when they realized they brought it to us incorrectly, but still charging us for it. Refuse to sit at the table at the back, otherwise you will eat with the smell of dish detergent floating around you. But it can also give you a good view of how they handwash the glasses! Not even giving 30 seconds worth of running water - I'm afraid of what communicable disease can stick to the poorly washed glasses. Don't be surprised by the good reviews, though. You're not in Asia, you're not in Vietnam, and Germans generally like exotic food / less discerning than a Southern European when it comes to food so you get good ratings...

This is one of the best Asian restaurants in Bonn, in my opinion. The menu isn’t huge but certainly provides enough options to choose from. Everything tastes very fresh and authentic. The service is extremely fast and the servers are very nice - perfect place for a quick lunch. Also, I really liked the presentation: everything is very clean, neat and the portion sizes are perfect. I can recommend the fried egg noodles with chicken - I know it’s a simple dish, but they make it surprisingly well. This place is a bit pricey (about €11.50 for a dish), given that there are quite a few Vietnamese and Thai places in the area where you’d pay €7-8.00, but the quality is...

I really appreciated the vegetarian options 🥦🥕 — everything was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. From the delicious pho 🍜 to the fresh spring rolls 🥢, every dish tasted authentic and satisfying.
