Cast Iron Grill (im Köln Marriott Hotel) — Restaurant in Cologne

My wife ordered a steak and I had the special. They must have cooked hers first and left it under the heat lamp because it wasn't cooked evenly. They also couldn't sear it properly and they heavily oversalted the meat and didn't put any black pepper on it. The bearnaise sauce came out ice cold and hard. A restaurant called "Cast Iron Grill" can't cook a steak properly.

To further make our dinner even worse, we asked for burrata to take to our room. It was dry and sour. Why a restaurant would serve something so far outside the expiration date is beyond me.

I stayed at the Marriott for business a few weeks ago, and had both the breakfast buffet and dinner here. The food for both meal times was delicious, staff was very attentive and even recommended wine for me to enjoy with dinner. I ate dinner later in the evening on a Thursday night, and the restaurant was not very busy. Nice selection of entrees for dinner, and everything was hot when it came to the table. Breakfast in the morning was quite busy, and all of the stations were constantly being replenished with fresh food items. This is one of the better hotel restaurants I have dined...

Actualy nothing special to write home about. Not even a single bit. Ok, I was actually rather sad. Been waiting for awhile to have the chance (and time) to visit this place as Stefan H pretty much adores it.

We got an ok Alsatian Tarte Flambée (our son and I call it French Pizza by the way). I didnt choose the vegetarian one of course. The food was ok despite the wrong Pizza but the service was incredibly weird. Thus the mistake it took ages to complete the order as well.
