Mixed Feelings
As I was searching for a place to fill the magic atmosphere for my writing, I came across (finally - after few experiments in other coffee places) with this coffee place and became a returning “Guest”. As a hospitality “creature” I choose my places for its atmosphere but mostly for its service. During the last month Iv’e been very satisfied with the service people and their pure smile and attitude that makes the Journey much nicer to come back again, not only, as they get to see me more, they started ordering my Americano once they realised I was comfortable in my table. which makes it even more delightful to return and stay. Unfortunately I don’t have the name for those particular service people, to be able to give them the honor for their their service to receive my gratitude. However, I’ve been ordering just my Americano for the period time of my work and the time of providing me a cup of coffee (simply espresso with water - which the machine does by just a simple touch on the correct bottom) - most of the time takes about 10 minutes or even more. That didn’t happen to me anywhere else and IS disappointing. I decided to write this review for my last experience, three days ago, when other service people (a girl with a short hair and a guy with glasses and blond hair), were working. I had to wait for one of them to arrive and take my order for almost 20 minutes. Once the girl approached me and took my order (after my “chasing” her attention), I had to try and get her attention (again) to check what happened to my simple coffee (after 10 minutes). She was talking to the guy and the guy, in response to my gentle approach, shouted at me “you need to wait I’m talking to her!” Once he came to me and got my complain he continued to shout that I’m not a patient person and this is unkind of me to complain - due to the fact that the place was more full then usual (during my returning to this place I’ve seen this place in more action and got my coffee much sooner). Instead of giving me the service any place have given me before, they both argued with me that it’s my fault for not understanding the situation of not having enough workers and not being patient - that I lied about the time waiting time (In other words, calling the costumer a lier) and once I asked for their first name (by law) to give my complain to the manager - they rudely refused. Once I asked for the manager, the girl told me (while laughing at my face) that the second manager was this guy and that I have nothing to do regarding my complain and nowhere else to go to. When I approached the guy as the “manager” he responded that he is just a waiter and with a lot of anger shouted (again) that I should go and not return. I’ve never experienced such a service like this. In my eyes it won’t be fair for the restaurant - due to the good service people that gave me (before) such a great journey. However, if this happened once with the two service people (as long as they work when I’m there) it can ruin another day for me (as that last day) and that makes me consider if I should return to this place at all or even recommend it. I couldn’t even have the manager to get my complain as they refused to refer me to one by mentioning there isn’t one to help me in my case (yes, both of them made sure to repeat it again and again).
I left the place with not only disappointing feeling but with rage and upsetting feelings. This should not happen in a place...
Read moreI went there on 21-01-2022 at 17:00 with my girlfriend and her sister. A disclosure: we really like Wilma Wunder. We had a great experience in Düsseldorf. So we were expecting the same and were really looking forward to it. At first everything was going fine. My girlfriend is a Muslim and she doesn't eat meat (except Halal). So we ordered a Vegetarian Salad. There was a piece of chicken in it. So we called the waiter and showed him that. To our surprise, the waiter's reply was "Oh there is a chicken? And?" Then he just stood there as if it was our fault and we put the chicken inside. We asked him to get a new salad and he got it. When he came with the salad, instead of being polite or sorry, he threw (slammed) the fork and a butter knife on the table and put the salad down. We found it really rude. We asked him to call the manager and he did. We explained the manager the entire scenario and he said that he understood and will tell the waiter about his behavior. We payed the bill and as we were about to leave, the waiter came and stood uncomfortably close to me. He rudely apologized and said in a very rude tone that we should have told him instead of the manager. I was very uncomfortable with his proximity and the way he stood there as if he would have hit me if nobody was watching. Nothing against Wilma Wunder, but I don't think that customers should be treated this way. I will never be comfortable visiting this...
Read moreVegans should avoid.
I ordered the “vegan alternative” to a dish which is their main options for vegans is ask for the alternative. I clarified with the waiter twice that he understood I wanted the vegan option and he confirmed.
After that I receive the dish with cheese in it and the “vegan chicken” was concerningly like real chicken. I had my non vegan company taste it to check for me and they confirmed that it tasted exactly like real chicken. The waiter said it was definitely vegan. I showed him the cheese and he said oh but not the cheese. Sorry. But wouldn’t check that the “chicken was right”. I’ve felt sick all afternoon and after looking at the reviews on holy cow I’ve seen photos of their actual vegan chicken option and it looked not at all like my dish. This is very upsetting. I couldn’t finish the food. We were not offered for the meal to be replaced or taken off the bill so my mum who is not vegan and was there with me ate it so it wasn’t wasted. At the end the waiter admitted it was his mistake but was not at all apologetic.
What’s most disappointing is I sourced this place out because other reviews had this posted as vegan friendly. I can’t fully confirm on the chicken but it really didn’t seem right. And cheese is definitely not vegan. Be cautious. Considering the cost for this experience my advice is to...
