The venue itself is lovely and the coffee was good. Unfortunately, this positive impression was completely ruined by the manager's unprofessional and rude behavior.
She approached our table and brusquely informed us that charging a phone was not allowed.
What made the situation particularly uncomfortable was that after we explained that a bartender had already given us permission, she proceeded to scold the helpful staff member right there in front of us. I felt terrible for him. Her behavior was not only disrespectful to us as customers, but also incredibly unprofessional towards her own employee.
I can understand that a café might have a policy against this. However, it's worth remembering that in a tourist city like this, a dead phone can be a genuine problem for a visitor, sometimes even affecting their ability to pay. I was fortunate to have a physical card with me. But beyond the policy itself, the condescending tone and lack of basic decency were unacceptable.
A little bit of kindness would have completely changed our perception of this place. Had I known how unwelcoming and restrictive the atmosphere was, I would have simply gone elsewhere. For this reason, I strongly do not...

Ok: for our breakfast Saturday: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ we had an 830 reservation for the breakfast buffet (13,50€). The staff was friendly, the food delicious and well priced for Dresden and for such a large selection. There was tons of fresh yummy things to choose from, and it's all you can eat, so you can choose it all! Clean, comfortable seating outside and inside... would've been a solid 5 stars
... but...
Breakfast (holiday) Monday reservation at 12: ⭐⭐. Ouch. It was classified as "brunch" and was €5 more... but the selection was not as good as the regular breakfast. Items were often empty for extended periods or empty altogether (although the buffet is open for 2 more hours). Instead of the fresh fruit salad on offer Saturday morning, it was frozen fruit getting mushy in a bowl. The selection was more limited than the "regular" days! The staff was overwhelmed and/or indifferent... it was hard to believe it was the same place!
Summary: don't go on a Sunday or a holiday. Go early (a reservation is a must on any day at any time) and then: enjoy the 5 star experience and not the 2...
Read moreWe went there to enjoy the area of old town Dresden. Took 15 minutes to get noticed. No big deal we are enjoying our vacation. Then after getting drinks it took 45 minutes before we flagged someone other than our server down to order a dessert and 2nd drink because thought a full meal wouldn't come in time before we had to make a train. After being there an hour and 20 minutes thinking we should have had more service I got up asked for help and was told someone would be with us.... 15 minutes late I got up and asked to pay so we could leave. Not sure if the sever disliked we spoke English or we were American. Either way. 2 drinks in an hour and 45 minutes was awful service. Avoid this place at all cost. When finally cashing out the server was obviously angry. Not sure why I deserved any attitude when I was never asked if I wanted food by the man and had to ask someone else to bring my wife a dessert at least. Would have spent at least double the money at the restaurant if we were at least looked at by the server. Dresden is a great city which we enjoyed but unfortunately the last experience we had and will remember always was the rudness of the...
