Sutton's Irish Pub — Restaurant in Dusseldorf

Please think twice before supporting this establishment. Based on what I’ve observed, the management does not seem to prioritize the well-being of their staff, and there are concerning issues with how the workplace is run. Employees appear to work long shifts—sometimes up to 9 hours—with no breaks and no chance to sit down, even during very busy times.

I also witnessed inappropriate behavior in the workplace that was not addressed, leaving staff in an unsafe and unsupported environment. Additionally, I noticed that employees were not always compensated fairly for their hard work, and when they tried to address these concerns, they were dismissed. It’s troubling to see people treated with so little regard for their rights or dignity.

Cleanliness also seemed to be an issue. On one occasion, I saw a manager deal with cockroaches in a way that involved using glasses later used to serve drinks, which was very concerning.

Very cute place, classic dark wood and cut glass accents. There are lots of murals on the walls. The drinks were average prices for the area, I believe, and the staff was very nice to us. We stopped in, asked if they had food (nope, no kitchen) so we went and ate elsewhere and then came back for a drink and a nice place to relax. It was quiet and relaxing when we were there but looks equipped to be filled with viewers during fussball (soccer) matches. The Sutton's is one of the Irish Pubs that are opened later than the others. I personally like the atmosphere, but have to mention a few things: In the front area around the bar, you get the typical Irish Pub feeling. Though, the place is way too big and especially the back is quite "old". The late opening hours also cause a lot of drunk heads to appear who get not quite consequently thrown out. The choice of drinks is good, but I couldn't find my favorite whiskey here. The staff is very friendly, but kind of slow now and then. Restrooms are okay, but messy...
