This was, without a doubt, the most horrendous experience of my entire existence. The entire staff exhibited a level of unfriendliness's, and the ambiance of the restaurant was utterly nonexistent. During our lunch with four people, we initially ordered some drinks, only to be shamelessly ridiculed by our waiter Markus for daring to request a cappuccino. Not only did he refuse to communicate in English, but he also callously disregarded our preferences and abruptly walked away. Even when we later requested the remaining two drinks, the staff continued to ignore us while shamelessly gossiping about our party.

As if that weren't enough, we discovered a fly in one of our drinks and brought it to the attention of our waiter Flo, who responded aggressively with the phrase "und jetzt" (meaning "and now") in German. Despite our friend's lack of understanding of the language, Flo callously refused to replace the contaminated drink. When Markus was summoned by Flo, he aimlessly searched for the fly and, in a deceitful move, claimed to his colleague in German that there was no insect present. Not surprised, but ofcourse they added the replaced drink on the bill. And when it came time to settle the bill, Markus had no qualms about dragging out the process.

In summary, this was by far the most horrendous experience of my life, and I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy. Hardly do...

It was a nice day, switching between sunny and rain, but still warm. There was no menu visible, but laminated signs stuck to the tables, telling people to look online. I did so, and after standing in the opening for quite awhile without any attention from the tree employees, who were conversing behind the counter, I decided to sit at a table. After awhile, a waiter approached. I ordered, but he said my order was unavailable due to Corona. I accepted this and ordered the next best thing. The meatball, served with mustard and three raw onion rings and a slice of gurkin, was mediocre at best, like it had been frozen and microwaved. But all this was not my deciding factor to write this review. The big issue was the barman, who poured out the house beer for all the customers. He was given all empty glasses by the waiters, and he placed them in a washing up tray, and then went directly on to the new glasses, pouring out more beer. After I saw this a few times, I quickly asked for the bill. I had already had my beer before realizing that all the other guests' empty glasses had been touched by this one man before he touched all the new glasses. This is not an acceptable practice these days, or at any time. I hope for the safety of all the guests, that this...

I was there on a Sunday afternoon with two other people that are visiting Düsseldorf, and we wanted to show them a bit of the cultural things in the city. Unfortunately, we were looking for a table outside, and when we asked a waiter, the guy didn't even look at our faces and said to ask for another colleague. We have called this other colleague, and he said we can seat anywhere, because 'this is a brewery'. Then, we indeed 'sat anywhere', but after 1 min the same waiter that mentioned to talk to the other colleague, said that the table was reserved - so, we can not seat anywhere??? Extremely rude waiters, it does not even seem like they care at all, and you would pay for that. Seems like we were an enormous inconvenience for them.

After this rudeness show, we were ashamed with my guests and of course immediately left to another place (Heimwerk), which the customer service was really good.

This would not be the first time that I was in this place, and every time I went there, it seems like we are doing a favor being there -and being an extreme inconvenience to all the staff. This was the last time I would (try to) go to...

My ultimate super favourite bar in Düsseldorf! It was one of those classic German local bars. Not much of English speaking, but everything was easy and simple as they only have 2 types of local beer, the full beer or half-half. My favourite was the half-half. I can drink minimum of 3 glasses of these without having any side effects because it is a half beer half malt drink. The food was also very delish! I had beef cooked in raisin sauce that also comes with apple puree. It was amazing! Never thought of any dishes wuth raisin sauce before and didn't have any slight of idea it would be that good at all. For a note, I have turkey with cranberry sauce. So, at first I didn't want to order this at all as I thought raisin sauce would be more or less similar with dish coiked with cranberry sauce. But it wasn't at all! It was a bit sweet, but just very delicious. Very recommended to try! Some people say the waitress were not friendly, I disagree with them! They are friendly and just being professional. Just like any other traditional German pub, they accept cash only!

As the name implies, this place brews its own beer. And in Düsseldorf, Alt bier is king. It is actually supposed to be served in 25 centiliter glasses to maintain proper temperature as you drink it. And if you think that is not enough beer, don't worry, the waiter will keep bringing a fresh one as you are about to finish until you put your coaster on to of your glass to signal you do not want anymore. The mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, brats, potato soup, sauerbraten, and pork knuckle (ham hock for Americans) were all delicious. The spaetzle casserole with creamed mushrooms and broccoli au gratin was dry and left much to be desired. It was too dry. Overall, the atmosphere is exactly what you would expect from a German bierhalle. Plus, there was a Bundesliga football match earlier in the day, so supporters from Fortuna 95 and Schalke were present everywhere, making it all the more fun. We definitely recommend this restaurant.

Usually, we just have some beers at the outside terrace, before we move to some nicer (less party crowded) spot. However, this time we went inside for dinner. Of course, and as to be expected in this area, it is crowded and loud. However, the service was good. Friendly and efficient. The food menu offers some German classics and local option. Few more healthy and lighter options are also available. Pricing fair. Quality too. After all, we enjoyed our dinner and can recommend the spot, if you seek for some German brewery atmosphere. The local kinda red beer is not for everyone but some alternative craft beer is available too.
