Balance Deli — Restaurant in Frankfurt

Definitely not recommended, absolutely terrible service. Don't go here.

Sadly I have to change my review from 5 to 1, because of the terrible service that was present the last time. We waited 35 minutes for our order, a long time already, then upon ordering "fresh mint tea" we asked if it could also be prepared cold, we have been told it can be. But receiving it, it was just cold water with mint leaves, not even crushed, so the water didn't even have any mint taste. Upon telling the staff that this isn't tea, it's cold water with a few mint leaves, which is definitely not tea, we've been told that it is and it's what we asked for, but we gave it back because it isn't tea. They said we could get something else instead, but alas, of course paying for it, ordering extra and not getting something else instead of the tea. So we paid for the tea, didn't drink it, and have been told in a very unfriendly manner that indeed it is tea. Pulling the definition of tea from Google, "a hot drink made by infusing the dried crushed leaves of the tea plant in boiling water," a cold version of this is just like this, but with ice added after the tea is prepared, of course hot. Otherwise, it isn't tea at all, just water with a few mint leaves for 4.5 euros, which doesn't have any taste, because tea gets it's taste from hot water, which you can cool afterwards. After speaking with the staff further, they poured the orange juice, and in the middle of conversation interrupted us and just put it in front of us saying "here, just take it okay?" in a get-off manner. I have come to Balance Deli a few times and usually have a pleasant visit. I have come here to work and the atmosphere is very nice. The place is very aesthetic and it usually is not too loud and they have free wifi. It is also a yoga studio, so it is not especially catered towards workers/laptops but they do allow laptops except on weekends & public holidays.

The food is good, but like others mentioned, it can be a bit pricey. All of the food/drinks are vegan/vegetarian and they have a relatively diverse menu (smoothies, coffees, salad, wraps, baked goods, etc.). I get the Deli Salad Bowl and matcha smoothie and I think they are both delicious!

The staff is usually nice and friendly, and most of them also speak English.

I discovered this cute café in ffm casually but I never missed a chance to pass by since then! I tried out many cafes in the city and Balance Deli is my absolute favorite. Starting from the cozy, relaxing and aesthetic atmosphere created by the wooden tables, soft sofas, hanging plants and wide windows…its pure magic! The natural light enters from the big window and it brightens up the whole environment giving you a deeply relaxing and joyful feeling. I tried Matcha latte for the first time in my life here and never quit it since the lovely staff made me one that day. Food is delicious, all vegan but extremely tasty: a pleasure for the mouth!
