Massive queues for a massively overhyped burger joint.
Walked past many times and always massive queues out front. Never tried until today as the prices are very much on the high side. Today, with a group of work colleagues, we tried it out.
Upon entering there are three order machines, the software is not intuitive and is setup in such a way as to upsell and also to sell you the highest profit food ie cheesburgers, drink and fries. Just using these machines gave the impression that this place was maxed for profit.
The waiting area is a bland badly lit area pumping up extremely loud dance music. Atmosphere i have had better standing out the front of a burger stand at 2am in the morning. This place reminded me of the dodgy burger stands that used to be found INSIDE of nightclubs.... blahhhhh
Service - what can i say, so many people standing around, so few people actually working. When the burgers arrived (yep the waiting time is long), the service relating to boxes, carrying the burger, extra things such as politness are non existent. You feel like you have to jump over the counter and take over from the servers.
Now comes the review of the food.
Burger - i ordered a super smash burger ( i had to hunt through the search menu to find the burger). I have to admit it tasted very good, it tasted very similar to one of those 6€ burgers you get from a kebab shop, and was a similar size. But it was a 6€ burger in a 10€ packaging.
Fries - just skip these. These where not just bad but abysmal. They are very comparable to KFC. They are pre-frozen, nothing special, straight out of a pastic bag, bought from a cash and carry fries.
Dipping cheese - melted american processed cheese. Thats what it looked and thats what it tasted like.
Highlight - chili sauce - the chili sauce is actually pretty good. I spread this over the fries to improve their taste. But even then it could not hide how bad the fries are.
Overall - If they dropped the prices by 25% i would be back for the burgers. As is, there are way too many better burger...
Read moreI ordered the 7th street burger and added bacon marmalade. The burger was really good, the homemade pickles were delicious, and the marmalade was a great decision. They have vegan and vegetarian options as well. The cons were the long wait time and no seating. We waited for 40 minutes for 1 burger, and they skipped over my order (I think because I didn't have fries) and I had to go ask about, which it had been already ready just never called. I know they just opened so I'm assuming it's just because they are new and working out the kinks that they have these long waits. There is one counter to stand at but no seating inside or out, so just be prepared. Also the machines weren't accepting visa only EC cards (I noticed others were having difficulty but could go to the counter and they figured it out there), not sure if it was normally like that or not. Overall in the top 3 burger places for me in Frankfurt. Would definitely go back (when...
Read moreI felt like a badboy going there, it is such a hip spot. When you get there you usually find a long line, but i assure you, it goes by fast. You order from a screen and it is offered in both English and German, that was really helpful. You feel like a part of a tribe as you wait there to be fed. you look at a screen and trace your order. When it is ready you are served an uncovered box. The burger is so crispy and sticky, in a good way, and the fries is abundant and extremly crispy. I just wish you could specify a request like no onions from the machine, but i guess thats part of the...
