Bodega Barcelona — Restaurant in Frankfurt

First of all, this place (at least upstairs) needs refreshing. Maybe 20 years ago ist was cosy, now it’s simply rundown. I will begin with the waiter, who put a bottle of water and two glasses piled up together on our table and… went away. I wouldn’t call it “a service”. There was a candle on the table, but who would think to light it up? What for?! Getting to the point: the food was much too salty and the sausage extremely chewy. Nothing special or even worst.

The loud music which was played in the whole place, because someone was celebrating birthday downstairs, and couldn’t be silenced , when we asked, made us leave this place very promptly because suddenly this place transformed itself in a cheap disco. Nettes Ambiente, kleines überschaubares Restaurant mit kleiner Speisekarte die sich übersichtlich präsentiert und nicht zur reizüberflutung neigt. Kerzenatmosphäre und gemütliche Stimmung, lädt zum Verweilen ein, nur die Musik hätte im Hintergrund etwas leiser sein können. Das Unterhalten am Tisch wurde so fast anstrengend. Das Restaurant befindet sich in einem ganz alten, schiefen Fachwerkhaus! Da muss man als Liebhaber für alte Fachwerkarchitektur Mal drinne gewesen sein.Die kleinen Vorspeisen/ Antipasti sind lecker und absolut zu empfehlen genauso wie die Hauptgerichte! Die Pastagerichte präsentieren sich ebenso in guter Qualität! Sehr zu empfehlen Pasta vegetariano! Leckere frische Tomatensauce und mit viel leckeren Grillgemüse - da war alles dabei. The food and service here is outstanding! Got the hummus and shrimp off the tapas menu, my wife got the braised chicken, rice, and grilled veggies... delicious! Drinks were very good as well! Music was very good as well! Will definitely come back when...
