KAKADU'S Steakhouse & Burger & Bar — Restaurant in Frankfurt

The fact that their three Australian beers are among the actual top selling beers in Australia 🦘 certainly shows they are interested in being authentic. If you are in Germany drinking Australian beers however, you really need to take a long hard look at yourself ! They get extra points for not having Fosters on the menu and for calling prawns prawna and not shrimps .

I only wanted a small meal but I didn't get one . The burger was delicious and not small . I wanted to take half home but tbh it was too good to not devour in its entirety!

They play dance music here which made me feel like I was going on a road trip through the Australian desert . It kinda worked . ..

Considering that I walked in at ten minutes to one am on a Monday night/Tuesday morning and they actually made me a burger is very impressive indeed !! The homemade soda I had was great too. Staff were professional and efficient .

I should have ordered the German sausage from the menu. Perhaps it would have been smaller . Somehow as an Australian that seemed un Australian 🦘. Not drinking VB, Crown Lager or XXXX Gold on the other hand is very appropriate in this part of the world where beer is a cherished and savoured beverage . I don't think Germans would feed these beers to their dogs if I'm being quite honest .

There's a big cocktail list here I think this could be a good place to party with some mates and pretend you are on the land down under !

I mean you could probably drink the Australian beers if someone dares you or offers you a wad of cash. I mean I would drink them in Australia if there was nothing else l must admit, but even the most pedestrian German beers are so so much better ! Why would you do it...

The steak in the restaurant is very good, but comes with the price. The price is bit high. It’s a nice place to have a beer or two.

Be honest, the area of the restaurant is very messy and very noisy. The homeless people and the drug users are all in this area, even it’s kind of busy street during the day, it doesn’t seem very pleasant, you might feel unsafe if you are a lady and walk alone at night.

Also pocket- lifter are around this area, be aware if you are walking or even sitting in the restaurants. They(come usually as two) will come in and sit in the restaurant like customers and pretend to pick up something from their jacket pocket, but actually they are trying to steal from your jacket pockets that you usually put it on the back of your chair. That was exactly what happened to us. We had this situation in this restaurant, fortunately we did not have anything in the jacket pockets. We witnessed this, they got up and walked out the restaurant in one minute without looking at the menu.

Interesting and exotic menu with nice ambience, but felt a little let down by the food taste.

I went to this restaurant on 25 August, 2018. Wanted to try it because the menu was quite exotic and the ambience felt nice. I ordered a Kangaroo sandwich. Unfortunately, the taste was very poor, almost bland.

I have updated this review today (2 August, 2023) nearly five years after my original review because I just got a legal request that the original review ("Interesting and exotic menu with nice ambience, but felt a little let down by the food taste") it apparently "violates their rights" ("Der Beschwerdeführer behauptet, dieser Erfahrungsbericht verletze ihn in seinen Rechten"). I would therefore be very wary of the high ratings because it is likely that the restaurant has similarly suppressed other poor reviews. Edit: Looking at other recent reviews, I see that the restaurant owner is indeed sending complaints to Google about multiple poor reviews! I have therefore reduced my rating from three stars to one.
