Leib & Seele - Frankfurt am Main — Restaurant in Frankfurt

We have been visiting Leib und Seele restaurant for many years since it was still in a different location. We're always happy to eat in Leib und Seele despite the service always takes long but the service people are still quite decent for today's standard where service people are in other restaurants in Frankfurt can be rude.

We like the new location of Leib und Seele very much. It's in a quiet corner of Frankfurt, it has a nice outdoor area and a nice indoor area too.

Eventhough we have moved to another country everytime we come to Frankfurt we still like to eat in Leib und Seele restaurant.

We came to Lein und Seele again on 7 July 2024 for dinner when there was a football match of UEFA Cup 2024 championship. We invited 6 friends. The restaurant was extremely full & crowded as there're 2 big screens to watch football match.

I & one other friend ordered Kalbsschnitzel. After a long wait it finally came. Not really right because our fried potato didn't come with bacon as stated in the menu. We ate it anyway.

Samira served us and apologised for a few mistakes on the food here and there on that evening. We accepted.

As usual when we are in Frankfurt we often meet up with some of our friends. Right the next evening we came again to Leib und Seele for dinner. Our daughter ordered Kalbsschnitzel. And we saw the portion of her Kalbsschnitzel was double the size of the Kalbsschnitzel that I & our other friend ordered the evening before. It meant the chef has devided one portion of Kalbsschnitzel for 2 people the evening before but still paid the same prices.

We complained to Samira and demanded to get our money back for 1 portion of Kalbsschnitzel the evening before. At first she was hesitating to reimburse our money. After long discussions finally she agreed.

It's not about the money but about being cheated in a restaurant that we've come so often all these years. Those waiter & waitress have never even recognised us despite we've eaten there so often.

That time visit in Frankfurt we came 3 times to eat in Leib und Seele, on 18 June for lunch and 7-8 July for dinner.

I hope Leib und Seele will not cheat on their customers anymore especially not on very loyal...

The waiter took our order..and before he even stepped away from the table, we had a slight change on 1 maincourse ,we asked him first if that was okay and he approved to change after he consulted with the chef. I need to mention the waiter was a very polite guy.

We sit with our drinks at the table and 20 minutes later, no salad or even bread were served as we wait for maincourse. One would expect a salad to be served before the maincourse especially if you have such long waiting times. Otherwise, its unbelievable that a salad has to come out at the same time with a maincourse with such a long waiting time. Note that , the waiter informed us about the waiting time for 1 maincourse and we were well aware but we obviously didnt expect a salad to take 30 minutes to serve. I mentioned this to the manager too, and he said they freshly prepare the maincourse from scratch and i clearly told him it was not about the maincourse but rather the salad we had ordered or even bread as we wait.

after my husband went n asked for bread and only then did they serve it.

After such a long waiting time, We finally received the food and it was soo mediocre .Definitely not what we expected for a restaurant of this calibre.The fried potatoes served with the scnitzel were burnt, the pork schnitzel itself was hard and barely seasoned ,the osso bucco ;rice with risotto was way too bland. Only the pasta linguine was a bit bearable but also not deserving of a big rating. My appreciation goes to the kind lady who offered strawberries for my daughter as she also failed to eat the food . All in all, we expected better quality food from a restaurant with this rating.We were so disappointed.

I went to have a meal recently and ordered the pork knuckle the portion is huge and is delicious.

But….. very disappointed with the service.

Read the reviews it said they provide good service and they can speak English so it will be helpful as i can't read and understand German menu. I wasn't expecting anything extra but my experience is not acceptable.

From the moment i entered the restaurant the staff just sat there continue wiping the crockery at the table.

When I'm ready to order the waitress asked me to wait and i waited around 10mins before she came to take my order. (there are only 3 table at that point of time) Some staff wasn't doing anything just standing there.

There is a table with 7pax came after me got their orders taken immediately. What really pissed me off is my food was served after the 7pax too. The issue here is I arrived first and ordered my food first.

I waited almost 30mins to get my meal served. If the dishes needed longer time i don't mind waiting if the staff inform me in advance. But they leave me hanging.

While waiting for my food i observed i was mistreated. The table beside me who only speak English was given the same menu and was told to go online to check out their English menu. Why didn't the waitress told me the same when she passed me the menu so i don't have to go thru the hassle google translate the menu. She obviously know and heard me speaking in English.

Everyone else came in after me was being greeted with smile and warm welcome except me. Is that a discrimination?

When i asked for the bill i also waited another 10-15mins. The waitress was asking me for a tip and i decided not to give for such poor service that I received.

Altho the restaurant have great ambient and good food but with such lousy service and staff i don't think i will ever...
