Fancying a breakkie for a sweet-tooth? Prefer a warm healthy sandwich? Is it freaking cold outside? Well, Lesecafé has get you covered! Although… the room could benefit a bit of heating in winter 😉. Apart from that, which makes me go for 4 ⭐️ and not 5, cakes are delicious and toasts alike. Amongst the hot drinks the recommendation must surely go for the coffee with cream: a treat must suggested on cold winter days. Service is always friendly and English speaking, which always helps and there’s almost no waiting to be served. It’s all great till the moment you want to pay and are told by staff that only cash is accepted 🫢. It’s hard to imagine why in our time cards should not be accepted especially in places that target younger generations as Lesecafé also tries to. Enjoy a great meal here, but don’t forget some old school 💰(this makes me go down to 3 ⭐️). PS: in coming days more reviews for equally good cafes supporting digital payments too 💸

Hidden away behind the big 19th. century facades of the street, in a cozy backyard, lies a little gem: The Reading Café (Lesecafe). Being sheltered away from the main street, it is a small oasis amidth the bustling town. Besides the cute courtyard in the front if the building, the café has a beautiful sunroom in the back. It is stacked with books and you can find a peaceful place here to read and have homemade cake and coffee, but also little snacks and breakfast is available. In summer you can sit outside in the courtyard with birds tweeting and sometimes the red squirrel from the neighboring house peeks over the wall and makes the guest laugh. The staff at the café is very friendly, and you feel relaxed here. It is one of my favorite cafés in Frankfurt. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Frankfurt.

The drinks (avocado smoothie and orange juice) were quite small for the price and I wouldn't call them delicious (of course that's for the avocado smoothie since the orange juice depends on the oranges). It is a pretty small cafe but cozy although it was really loud as it was full. I would not come here to read, so feel like the name could be anything else but I guess the bookshop next door is the "Lese" part. The bookshop is cutely decorated and has some very helpful and friendly staff. In fact, everyone working in the cafe and bookshop were quite lovely.

It’s pity I still have to give a star to leave the comment. The worst cafe experience ever. The quality of coffee is unbelievably terrible - I can taste the machine has never been properly cleaned and the beans are wrongly treated and kept. I couldn’t swallow a sip of it so I had to order a cake. It did’t seem like it would ever be served and meantime the “coffee” got even cold. All the other tables after my order were already served - it’s obvious that my cake was forgotten - so I had to remind the waiter my order. He came and said, “oh I am sorry that we don’t know to be fast.” The tone and the attitude were so arrogant and unnecessarily rude. Really disgusting and immature little boy was complaining about what he can do when he works alone and there are other tables. So I guess he doesn’t even get the point. Please don’t waste your money, time and energy here when there are many other...
