Via Monte Napoleone Restaurant — Restaurant in Frankfurt

I don't have much respect for German restaurants - although my opinion is not reliable because I have visited them maybe 10-20 times...

Today, after a day full of meetings, lectures and presentations, we wanted to end the day with a large group and visited an Italian restaurant in Frankfurt am Main - Via Monte Napoleone.

It is very Italian - in the best sense of the word! It's worth starting by assessing the staff serving us - my rating: Outstanding! In the center of Frankfurt, we felt the true atmosphere of Tuscany - politeness with the right amount of respect and a slight note of friendly indulgence for our mediocre knowledge of Italian delicacies - precisely measured to bring a smile of sympathy to our faces and curiosity about what will happen next... And there was still perfect, friendly service, with the right amount of respect and discretion and full understanding of our questions and requests - in my opinion, far beyond any of my experiences in terms of courtesy and personal approach.

As for the menu - I was absolutely delighted with the appetizers - I have never eaten such wonderfully prepared and equally good-tasting seafood before!! Calamari, shrimp - they melted in your mouth and the taste of the butter sauce was heavenly and the eggplant tasted absolutely amazing! I had the opportunity to choose wines for the main courses - the menu gave me the opportunity to taste drinks from all wine regions of Italy, selected so that each customer could find something that would suit their wallet - without compromising the taste and quality of the wines, which tasted delicious! And it's time for the main courses... Filet Mignon - I've Never Eaten So Deliciously! Juicy, tender, full of flavor... I can't write anything about the fish my friend's friends chose, except that they were as delighted with its taste as I was with the taste of my Filet Mignon! Desserts.... Cakes and ice cream - with an incredible taste - it's hard to compare them with anything I've tried so far - they were simply delicious in a different, Italian way...

This restaurant is a unique place - the atmosphere, discreet decor, service, wines and dishes - all at a level that will satisfy truly demanding connoisseurs. I'm glad I had the opportunity to host there - I encourage you to do the same - you certainly won't regret...

Place has no soul, seems to be for status junkies or rich straight men who are looking to impress a cheap chick. The electro music made it seem like a pretentious roof top bar where people come to see and be seen. The food was good and the pasta were home made and fresh, but 25 minutes waiting time after finishing the first dish is definitely too long. Service was polite but not personable on a humane level. Being pushed for drinks besides a large bottle of sparkling water when you mention being a low carb eating plan also shows a lack of training. I don't need to be asked 4 times. If you just worry about bringing me pepper and salt for the pasta and some nice chili oil, it's more useful to my particular needs... Just saying. There are some great restaurants out there where the cuisine is also inventive (La Dame de Pic in London is a favorite) but they go out of their way to make you feel welcome, relate to you, give you a smile. They are highly trained in any type of coffee, tea, cheese, and they can comment on every dish, making your experience highly customized. They are perhaps more a tad more expensive but the place has charm, and it leaves you feeling understood and welcome, interacting with customers is not a crime, the best hospitality businesses just have people who are right for the job and create a singular experience for each and every client while...

Nachtrag, Besuch 19.07.2022

Waren gestern einmal wieder hier. Wie auch beim letzten Mal wurden wir sehr freundlich empfangen.

Wir hatten wieder unseren Aperitif und sind dann zum Tisch.

Diesmal haben wir die Vorauswahl weg gelassen. Lediglich einen Mix aus Vorspeisen bestellt und den Hauptgang durfte jeder selbst bestimmen.

Vorspeisen waren Klasse, wir hatten fritierge Baby calamaris mit Zucchini, Burrata mit Tomaten, Garnelen, Salat und Tunfischtartar.

Zwischengang hatten wir die hausgemachte Pasta mit Trüffeln, die auch geschmacklich super waren.

Hauptgänge hatten wir Black Angus Filet und Kabeljau.

Beide Gerichte perfekt.

Man könnte fast meinen, dass man die Kritik positiv umgesetzt hat. Komme gerne wieder.

Service war ebenfalls grandios und hat sich bestens um uns gekümmert. Da macht jeder Restaurant Besuch Spass.

Wunderschönes Restaurant mit WOW Effekt, toller Service, aber Essen leider durchschnittlich.

Ich hatte schon viel vom Restaurant gelesen und nahm es zum Anlass für ein Team-Abendessen die Kollegen dort auszuführen.

Von außen macht das Restaurant schon einen sehr neugierig, der Außenbereich ist modern gestaltet und wirkt einladend.

Beim betreten wurden wir direkt sehr freundlich empfangen und gefragt ob wir zu erst einen Aperitif an der Bar möchten oder direkt zum Tisch begleitet werden wollen.

Wir entschieden uns erst einmal für die Bar. Die Bestellung wurde direkt aufgenommen und zügig serviert. Die Cocktails waren absolut lecker und erfrischend.

Die Einrichtung von Restaurant war einfach ein absoluter Traum. Extrem modern und elegant gehalten, mit einem echten wow Charakter.

Am Tisch angekommen wurde uns erst einmal Brot mit einem Aufstrich gebracht. Eine Menü Auswahl hatten wir bereits vorab getroffen, so dass wir nur Getränke bestellen mussten.

Der erste Gang war eine Auswahl aus verschiedenen Vorspeisen, ein Salat aus Tomaten, Zwiebeln und Babyspinat, Beef Tatar, fritierte calamari, gegrillter Tintenfisch, vitello tonnato und panierte Hähnchenbrustfiletstreifen in einer mango chutney.

Das Beef Tatar schmeckte leider fad und war eher eine Enttäuschung, da die Fleischstücke eher zu gross waren.

Der gegrillte calamari war zu lange auf dem Grill und war wie Gummi zu kauen. Schade, da die Qualität des Fisches optisch sehr gut schien.

Das Vitello Tonnato, wurde auf eine moderne Art serviert, neben den Kalbsstreifen gab es eine Thunfischcreme als eiskugel. Tolle Idee, leider war die Creme für meinen Geschmack zu Süss, aber wie gesagt, für meinen Geschmack.

Der Salat und das Hähnchen waren absolut ein Traum, vor allem das Hähnchen war Butter zart und saftig.

Als zweiten Gang gab es Trüffel Pasta. Sehr ansehlich serviert und doch auch phenomenal. Geschmacklich mussten wir alle leider gut selbst nach salzen und pfeffern, aber sonst absolut ein Traum.

Beim Hauptgang gab es dann Rinderfilet oder Fisch.

Der Fisch war auf den Punkt gegart und war glasig, absolut top auch im Geschmack. Als Beilage gab es Bohnen und Kartoffeln.

Das Filet kam ebenfalls toll dekoriert und war auf den Punkt medium. Geschmacklich war das Fleisch ein absoluter Traum. Lediglich die Beilagen zum Fleisch waren traurig. Es gab Brokkoli am Stängel. Hier wurde das Gemüse zu einem zu lange gegart und zum anderen war es überwiegend nur Stängel.

Fazit: Das Restaurant ist vom Ambiente der absolute Wahnsinn. Der Service ist sehr aufmerksam, schnell und freundlich. Lediglich das Essen lässt den Wow Charakter vermissen, was extrem schade ist.

Mehr Geschmack bei den Vorspeisen, bessere Auswahl bei den Beilagen und es wäre perfekt.
