Blessed with Costa Rican ancestry, I grew up in San Francisco eating ribeye steaks, rice, beans white corn tortillas made from Azteca Indian "nixtamal" ground masa and instantly loved Mexican food like an otter does the sea.
Graced with over 30 trips to Mexico on business and deep sea fishing, I dined at the REAL DEALS all over the Republic.
My favorites included La Fonda del Refugio (now shuttered) in La Zona Rosa of Mexico City and Santo Coyote in Guadalajara.
Last evening's supper at Yuma's was a 100% gastronomic orgasm!
Living in Frankfurt over 10 years and totally disappointed by all the wannabe Mexican restaurants, Yuma's is the REAL DEAL.
The ambiance is woodsy modern elegant and the service impeccable.
Greeted by proprietor/partner Nikolas ~ a kind and immensely educated gentleman, my wife Christine and I melted into his oasis of peace and culinary joy.
Starting with Queso Fundido, a truly authentic appetizer consisting of very lean ground chorizo (yummy pork meat) heated into Oaxaca melted cheese, as well as guacamole and homemade bean dip, the flavors were simply outstanding.
The frozen freshly squeezed pear juice margaritas were delicious and refreshing, but could have been spiked with a bit more tequila.
Christine's Filet Mignon ala Pasilla was tender and delightfully scrumptious, and my Cochinita Pork Pibil Tacos and Barbacoa Beef Tacos were bursting with juicy flavorful meats.
Each entrée protein cooked a minimum of 8 hours with various herbs & spices, the tacos were served in warm fluffy nixtamal corn tortillas.
Too full for dessert, we will visit Yuma's again in 2 weeks to test-drive their Mole Chicken Tacos and Chiles Rellenos.
We wholeheartedly recommend Yuma's as a super place to enjoy their mas delicioso Mexican Food in all of Germany, and = to the very best in Mexico.
Our * SALUTE to Nikolas and Pedro ~ our server!
THE ENCORE
Already planning to lunch at Yuma's this afternoon after our arrival from Mallorca last evening, we were overjoyed to again eat REAL Mexican cuisine.
Our Cochinita Pibil Bowl and Barbacoa Bowl were filled to the brim on top of a foundation of fluffy Texas long grain rice, homemade "frijoles de olla" (tender Mexican beans), a thick layer of juicy and flavorful 8 hour cooked pulled Pibil pork or pulled Barbacoa beef, authentic Mexican salsa, diced fresh tomatoes, yellow corn niblets and a generous portion of outrageous guacamole.
Yuma's offers these 100% Mexican bountiful bowls for only 8,4 € ~ versus the tweezer filled wannabe fare found elsewhere for mucho more.

Read morePeople were very nice and we were highly appreciative of the attention and service despite being a busy time of the day (we were there for lunch) Their menu is somewhat small and typical TexMex style, but their food was fresh and tasty. They have some great sauces which is always appreciated. Location is great for office employees looking for a bite but if you are driving there it will be difficult to find a parking spot. Take an uber or taxi or even train, your save yourself the headache, specially if you are there during lunch. Prices are very reasonable vs the quality of the food, which is not fast food. Just food prepared quickly 😇. Wish their tortillas would actually be made from corn flour instead of wheat as it adds texture and flavor but that's just nitpicking and they way their good is prepared is typical TexMex. Perhaps adding additional types of meat preparation would be a good idea, but then again; nitpicking. I would love some agua de horchata or Jamaica (hibuscus), they always go so well with this type of food. Overall I would definitely recommend, specially in the summer as it is wide open with lots if light and outdoor sitting possible, as a quick and tasty lunch and might update on their dinner experience at...
Read moreNot even worth one star! Reserved in advance. Wasn’t crowded at all. We waited for minutes to be seated. Only a few servants were out and the ones who were out served other guest with two men at one table. waited again for roughly 20 min, it’s disgusting that nobody checked on us if we want to drink something. As I stopped one servant, to see when he’s gonna to take our order, the servant answered in a unfriendly manner. I would expect him to apologize at least for the waiting time. I told him what’s on my mind, that it took way too long for him to ask us at least for drinks. That kind of place does not deserve new customers. After many lockdowns due to Corona restrictions you should be happy and appreciate every new customer. We shorty after left this location and will definitely not even recommend neither come back...
