It was my first time in the Hard Rock Cafe and I was really excited about the concept of the bar and its store.
Nonetheless the experience was anything but good. I specifically asked the bartender if the Hamburg Card allowed me to have a 20% discount on my order. After a positive answer I ordered a special edition Winter Tea which was supposed to come with a slice of orange, lemon and a cinnamon stick. The result was that all three elements were missing with the bartender (after I specifically asked him about the missing ingredients!) told me they were all out of those ingredients. So basically I received a tea with some ginger and raspberry syrup inside and a price of 6 EUR, whilst a normal tea cost was 3 EUR. I leave you a picture of the publicity and the “real thing” down below so you can judge for yourselves.
The problem doesn’t end there though. As I asked for the bill the bartender (a different one this time) didn’t give me the -20% discount saying that this tea was actually a special edition tea and therefore wasn’t a part of the Hamburg Card offer. I complaisent and 10minutes later a team of 4 people came to a solution by giving me the discount promised to begin with. And even more shocking than all of the statements above, nobody even apologized for the situation, it seemed as if the managers were too busy covering the lack of ressources by coming up with quick and unprofessional solutions.
I can sum up by saying that I was strongly disappointed by the service of the Hard Rock Cafe in Hamburg.
I really hope the staff finds a solution so as to make sure the experience of each client is up to the standards of Hard Rock Cafe, something I am still to discover...
Read moreThe worst service I've had in a Hard Rock Cafe (and I've been to plenty). It seems our server's shift was over around the end of our dinner, which is fine, happened to me more often. In other Hard Rock cafés I was informed about the change of shift and introduced to the server for the rest of our meal. This didn't happen, which in itself doesn't bug me, so long as the now assigned waiter doesn't ignore the area we're sitting in (which he did). We noticed the two tables next to ours, who were newly seated, had to wait a long time to get their order taken. I wanted to have something to drink because my fries were very spicy, in the end I just kept on eating and fuming, because we had so much trouble getting any server's attention. When we wanted to pay, we managed to let someone know and this guy refused having us split the bill, claiming it's easier if we sorted that out amongst ourselves. I said that's not easier since one of us is British and therefore pays with a different currency (transaction costs, ugh!), but our bill ended up not getting split in two. The table next to us who left shortly after we arrived, did get to split the bill, so that's rather strange to say the least. Besides the poor service, I do not like the changes on the menu, which I know is not made by the Hamburg location, but I still wanted to mention it. We were really unhappy with the spicy fries. Since when? Especially when you haven't ordered a spicy burger, I clearly ordered the kind of burger that doesn't express a wish for chillies. This has been by far my most...
Read moreVery Disappointing Experience – Rude and Unprofessional Staff
I recently visited Hard Rock Cafe Hamburg with two friends from the USA. We chose this location because my friends were hoping to enjoy the same quality and atmosphere they’re used to at Hard Rock Cafes back home.
Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly disappointing. Upon arrival, the hostess directed us to the upstairs area. When we got there, a staff member named Amir told us that everything was fully booked because a large group was expected. However, it was clear this wasn’t true—he and other staff members were just standing around chatting, not preparing for any large group or serving guests.
We then returned to the first floor to find a table, only to be told by the host that food is not served downstairs and we must go back upstairs. He then brought us back up and suddenly told us that seating was available. Amir returned to serve us but continued to lie, claiming he didn’t know we planned to eat, among other excuses.
The atmosphere was extremely uncomfortable, and due to the rude and dismissive attitude of the staff, we decided to leave. This was by far the worst Hard Rock Cafe experience we’ve had. We’ve visited HRC locations across the world—from Dubai to several in the USA—and have always been treated with professionalism and respect. Hamburg, unfortunately, was the complete opposite.
We will not be returning, and I would not recommend this...
