Luigi's — Restaurant in Hamburg

I had an extremely upsetting and infuriating dining experience, which even led me to call the police.

First, I found a piece of metal wire, clearly from a cleaning tool, in my noodles. I confirmed this with the waiter, who also acknowledged it was a metal wire. I even shone my phone’s flashlight to show it, and everyone nearby saw it too. The waiter then took away the plate with the wire before I could fully react, so I didn’t have any evidence left. Still, I trusted the restaurant would handle this matter responsibly.

However, the waiter only offered me a cup of coffee to settle the issue, which I refused. I asked if I was still expected to pay for the dish that had a dangerous foreign object in it. Their response remained indifferent, and I had to get up and approach them after waiting for too long.

Then, a so-called "manager" came over and claimed it was impossible for their kitchen to have any metal wires. He even suggested the wire could have fallen from the air. He showed me their kitchen tools, saying they don't use wire brushes for cleaning. I explained it might have come from the dishwashing process, but regardless, I found it while eating in their restaurant. I told him that this wire could be extremely dangerous and could cause serious harm if consumed. What I wanted wasn’t just a free meal but an appropriate attitude from the restaurant.

To my shock, the manager became aggressive and accused me of planting the wire myself. I tried to explain that I live nearby and have been dining here regularly for years without any issues before. But they seemed to think I was just trying to get a free meal. Eventually, he began pushing me out of the restaurant, in full view of the other customers waiting outside. Some of them even offered me tissues and advised me to call the police.

I believe this restaurant needs to be inspected for health violations, as my life was put at risk. Secondly, the restaurant insulted me without evidence and physically pushed me out, for which they should apologize. Lastly, as a loyal customer who has recommended this place to friends and visitors for years, this treatment is truly heartbreaking.

I stood outside in the cold for an hour, waiting for the police, not for anything else but a fair resolution. Under police persuasion, the restaurant finally apologized, but my trust in them is completely shattered. I won’t be returning, and now I’m experiencing stomach pain. If my health deteriorates further, I will consult a lawyer and take formal...

From living in Hamburg for 8 months, this resturant have shown the worst costumer service and we will never be back.

We came in the resturant a sunday evening. The resturant was not very crowded but had a lot of people sitting and enjoying their food. We got a tiny table for two, and could chose between some different ones. I ordered a soup and glass of red wine and my friend ordered a tiramisu and some water. After sitting in the resturant for 35 minutes, we had received and finished our food. The second I finished the food they came and took our plates away and gave us the bill the same second, without asking if we wanted anything else. Me and my friend started to feel like they tried to rush us out of the resturant, but as I still had half a full glass of red wine left, and we had only just started our evening, we stayed. After maybe 5 minutes they started to complain to us saying we had to leave because of reservations. This was the same waiter that had given us our table.. without mentioning anything about being in a rush or being reserved. He was being rude and unfriendly. I have never written a google review on a resturant before.. but the service was so bad.. and reading the other reviews I can tell this is a on going problem in this resturant. I hope no tourists ends up in the hands of this rude resturant.. that will ruin their whole vacation. 100%...

Perfekt! Anders lässt es sich gar nicht beschreiben. Meine Freundin und ich haben „Luigi’s“ schon als unser Lieblingsrestaurant betitelt und diese Bezeichnung hat es auch absolut verdient. Wir lieben die gastfreundliche Atmosphäre, das traditionelle, wirklich leckere und sehr frische Essen, die Einrichtung und das superfreundliche Personal. Man bekommt heiße und unfassbar leckere Pizzen serviert, die dann sicherlich auch noch größer sind als jede andere Pizza woanders. Man merkt, dass die Zutaten immer frisch und von sehr guter Qualität sind, - somit ist auch das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis genau richtig und berechtigt. Besonders die Pizza-Karte ist unendlich lang, sodass dort wirklich für jeden Geschmack mit den außergewöhnlichsten Zutaten etwas dabei ist. Generell ist die Auswahl an Vorspeisen, Hauptspeisen, Desserts und Getränken sehr groß, was die Entscheidung allerdings nicht leichter macht. Auch für Vegetarier ist immer etwas dabei – bei Veganern bin ich mir zugegebenermaßen nicht ganz sicher. Hat man sich dann doch mal entschieden, kann man den Köchen bei allen Vorgängen in der offenen Küche live beim Zubereiten der Speisen zusehen. Die gute Laune schwappt auf den Gast über und die Stimmung ist sehr ausgelassen. Manchmal werden Pizzateige durch die Luft geschwungen oder Spirituosen / Speisen gekonnt serviert, worauf dann meistens ein Applaus folgt. Das gesamte italienische Ambiente hat einen sehr gemütlichen, fast schon romantischen Touch und ist für jeden zu empfehlen, der einen schönen italienischen Abend haben möchte. Die Stimmung ist immer unfassbar gut. Der Chef höchstpersönlich ist immer vor Ort und im engsten Kontakt mit den Gästen, sodass man sich durch ihn und die Kellner noch ein bisschen mehr wie in Italien fühlt. Auch wenn es immer etwas schwierig ist einen Platz zu bekommen (gerade mit mehreren Leuten) haben wir bisher immer Glück gehabt – das aber auch, weil es uns / mir wirklich wert ist zu warten. Ehrlicherweise bringt es nicht viel einen Platz zu reservieren, trotzdem ist es empfehlenswert, da diejenigen mit Reservierung bei der Platzzuweisung priorisiert werden. Trotzdem sollte man noch mindestens 20 Minuten extra Wartezeit einplanen, denn die Beliebtheit ist sehr groß. Das Sprichwort „Wer zuerst kommt, malt zuerst“ trifft definitiv zu, denn wer zur Hauptessenszeit am Abend kommt (und dann noch am Wochenende und ohne Reservierung) der muss schon eher um einen Platz bangen als diejenigen, die schon um 17 / 17:30 oder 18 Uhr vorbeischauen – und auch dann ist es schon schwierig. Trotz der großen Beliebtheit und der vielen besetzten Plätze gibt es nach der Bestellung keine langen Wartezeiten auf das Essen und keine Fehler bei den Gerichten. Bei unserem nächsten Besuch in Hamburg kommen wir definitiv wieder, und wenn es nur für eine kleine kulinarische Reise und eine Pizza ist – 1000% Weiterempfehlung!!! – und wenn bei der Musik jetzt noch auf den italienischen Sender umgeschaltet wird, ist der Abend wirklich mehr...
