Tippel II — Restaurant in Hamburg

Unbelievably bad service. Called into this place when we visited Hamburg a few months back. Having read the positive reviews and being recommended this place by a friend of ours at home in England we decided to see what the place was all about.

When we arrived there was 2 other people sat at the bar chatting to the blonde woman behind the bar, when we asked for drinks they all looked annoyed that we even dare order a drink and interrupt their conversation. I don't know what the staff members problem was whether it was because we asked in English and not in German, I don't know but we weren't drunk, weren't rude but whatever the reason was she wasn't happy and seemed to be p**d off.

Massive let down to be honest. Don't really understand the hype of the place either its just a dingy place, covered in graffiti all over the walls on inside but not...

Excellent bar - fantastic friendly staff only too pleased to assist- Jessica made me very welcome and an asset to the bar - very reasonable prices- great location near my hotel- a small seat outside so you can have a cheap beer and watch the world go by - toilet is downstairs- this is a great bar with a fantastic vibe stickers and graffiti...

Bisher war ich immer gerne im Tippel, das hat sich aber geändert. Vergangenen Samstag war eine andere Frau hinter der Bar, als die die bei meinen sonstigen Besuchen dort war. Als ich zwei Holsten bestellte (normalerweise bekommt man daraufhin in einer Kneipe eine Knolle oder die Frage "Flasche oder Fass") wurden mir kommentarlos zwei große (!) Gläser Fassbier hingestellt. Als ich daraufhin meinte, dass ich das so nicht bestellt hatte hieß es nur "das sei jetzt so" und ich musste die beiden Gläser so nehmen und bezahlen. Die Dame hinter der Bar war weder bereit kurz darüber zu reden, noch habe ich eine entschuldigung bekommen. Ich habe selber viel in der Gastro gearbeitet, Fehler passieren, aber dann nimmt man im Zweifelsfall die Bestellung zurück und gibt das richtige raus. Wenn diese Frau hinter der Theke steht werde ich das Tippel definitiv nicht mehr betreten! Mehr als ein Stern trotzdem, weil die andere Dame dafür sympatisch ist und es da nie...
