Taquería "Mexiko Strasse" — Restaurant in Hamburg

The best Margarita I have had in Europe. Wasn't sure if I wanted to try yet another margarita in Germany after having too many horrible ones, but this bar tender nailed it. Then I tried a Roasted Ananas cocktail, the bar tender earned another star. The brisket tacos were outstanding, and didnt need any salsa. Hands down, the best taqueria, or " Mexican" style restaurant I have been to in Europe. I'll be back. This Taqueria could hold it's own and be competitive in the gourmet ghetto in California.

Back again 6 months later and the place is packed! Glad to see the hard working owner is being rewarded! This food could seriously be compared to top notch Taquerias in the gourmet ghetto in California. The meat is cooked perfectly, the spices are right on and the drinks are perfectly balanced! Ordered a Mezcal margarita and was in heaven. My only suggestion would be introduce a hotter chipotle based salsa. The wonderful smoky flavor will sell people on the heat. Also Mexican hot chocolate, for after dinner. Wonderful place...

We were there as a couple and the place was recommended from friends who live there. On TripAdvisor it's also a good address. But without this it hidden in a side street of the Reeperbahn. So I don't know if we would've found it. It's a place with around 10 tables for maybe 50/60 people. The entry is like in a butchery with the plastic slices hanging from the ceeling 😁. The staff is friendly and they're explaining the menue which u can just read within a QR code. The tacos are delicious. We tried with and without meat, the pollo con mole was great. Also the beef Bürgermeister was one of the favourites. From the vegetarian ones was one pretty good (pumpkin) and the rest was OK. They recommended us to take a guacamole as starter and this would be wise. But it sounded to much (just take it😎). 🤓

U can not book a table so just step by. We were there right after opening time around 17.30 and there was enough space. During the 1.5 hours it became full. But the tables are not long...
