Café Extrablatt Heidelberg — Restaurant in Heidelberg

A great place to have a breakfast! We visited Cafe Extrablatt twice during 4 day stay in Heidelberg and both times we had a great breakfast. The interior looked great - I liked the wooden furniture and small details like the paintings behind the bar. The breakfast buffet costs 11.95€ on week days and 14.95€ on weekend. There is a wide choice of bread, cheese (vegetarian options available) and cold cuts (vegetarian option available). There are also various fruit spreads, nutella, peanut butter and similar stuff to eat with bread or a croissant. The pancakes were warm and fluffy - those were the best pancakes I had in my whole life! They were especially good with fruits and chocolate pudding. If you take a look at the menu you will find a great amount of vegetarian options of various dishes be it a schnitzel, a salad, a wrap, or a pizza. This places really gives you a wide choice of dishes. Everything was delicious and fresh, I highly recommend...

Sehr unfreundliches Personal (zumindest Andre) nie wieder. Kann ich nicht empfehlen.

If Andre is working don’t go. He was extremely rude and made us feel unwelcome. Especially rude to people who don’t speak perfect German. I ordered a fresh peppermint tea and he brought me a fruit tea, then proceeded to tell me that I didn’t read the menu properly and that his German is much better than mine even though he got a 4 in school (I have only been speaking german for a few years and tried to politely explain that I might have been confused) turns out there was only a fresh mint tea OR a peppermint tea. Because I was “wrong” he got me a fruit tea 😂 he was arrogant and rude and made me feel bad even though I make an effort to speak German....

Theres a reaso that this place is busy... amazing service, we were helped in english, great recommendations, and amazing food.

Our waitress, Merve, was really amazing giving us a warm and welcoming feeling, with great recommendations when we asked. They were willing to split a meal for my kids which most places don't do.

Best BURGER I have had since moving to Germany 2 years ago. Normally restaurants are not willing to prepare your patty medium rare, but here they did it and it was amazing. We had the Chilli burger, which was an unreal choice.
