Vater Rhein — Restaurant in Heidelberg

We stumbled upon Vater Rhein when we were walking along the banks of the Neckar River. It is a small pocket friendly bar with nice out door seating and a very friendly hostess.

We tried their Flammkuchen (German flat bread similar to pizza) and Kartoffelsalat with sausages (potato salad).

Both the dishes were amazing. Flammkuchen was so light and tasty that we ended up ordering two.

The hostess was so hospitable and friendly. She was patiently explaining to us about the dishes in English understanding that we don't speak German.

The prices were so affordable and the food was tasty. Definitely...

the impoliteness of the waiter (the old man with a moustache) exceeds all limits. From the minute 1 we went into the bar, he treats us super rude, I dont think is the way to treat people who goes there to eat and drink with friends. The waitress was very nice, polite and friendly, I feel for her, having to work with such a character...

Die billigen Spagetti und an sich Preise sind immer wieder gut! Leider hat eine sehr unfreundliche Kellnerin am Freitagabend unseren Aufenthalt deutlich verschlechtert. Obwohl wir den ganzen Abend da waren und sicherlich viel Geld eingebracht haben, war sie sehr unhöflich. Sie hat einen von uns angemecktert, das er zu laut sei, mir die Kerze aus der Hand gerissen und wieder in die Tischmitte gestellt (als ob ich ein Kind wäre) mit der Begründung, dass man die nicht desinfizieren kann (Warum steht sie dann auf dem Tisch?). An sich wirkte sie seeehr genervt. Wir haben uns überhaupt nicht daneben benommen. Ich finde das super schade, weil ich das Vater Rhein zum da sitzen wirklich schön finde. Ich hoffe, diese Rückmeldung bringt was. Sonst ist die Unfreundlichkeit der Kellnerin ein Grund ist nicht...
