Franz Soupmarine — Restaurant in Heidelberg

Absolutely loved this place. We visited on a Saturday for brunch and had the avocado on toast and oat bowl. The avocado on toast had a sun dried tomato paste on the bread which was delicious and the oat bowl was full of nuts and fruits (could have been a little less sweet but that’s probably just me).

Staff are friendly and the cakes looks amazing.

Lovely atmosphere from staff and seating areas quirky and comfortable.

This place is linked also to the counter that sells soups and the pizza place next door and all the food looks top quality - you can order from any place and sit anywhere between the seating of the three places - we wanted to come back for dinner but couldn’t get there before it shut.

update: I feel the quality has gone down a bit since last year - the soups have become more watery and less tasty and flavorful, the service is more stressed and hurries you along. They also just increased the price of the small soup to 4.50€ so it's definitely in the mid range price section now.

THE place in Heidelberg to go for tasty and cheap soup options. You can season it yourself with herbs and seeds. Huge plus. I did wish they offered a non white bread option - I'd be willing...
