Hotel Anlage — Hotel in Heidelberg

I am a regular visitor to Heidelberg and have stayed at many hotels there. I recently stayed at Hotel Anlage for the first time and was impressed in every category. The operators of this stately old building have done a great job of preserving the historic appearance in the common and dining areas while the bedrooms reflect modern upgrades assuring comfort for any traveler's standards. Moreover, the room was larger than typical hotel rooms in Heidelberg Altstadt. The price is also very competitive given the quality of the experience and would be a strong value even at a higher rate. The location is very good as it is across a narrow street from the main cluster of university buildings and the Altstadt. Other Altstadt hotels do not enjoy comparably efficient car access because of driving restrictions in the nearby pedestrian zones. And while road noise is audible during the day, traffic on that road is substantially diminished and almost unnoticeable in the evening hours. Important note- because the hotel is at the southern edge of the Altstadt, it is a 5 or 10 minute walk to the bulk of the restaurants and nightlife. The hotel's food is traditional German fare and very fresh and of high quality. And lastly, but not least- every employee was exceptionally friendly...

This is my second visit to Hotel Anlage and I again found it a very pleasant and good value stay. The hotel has a unique and genuine family-run feel.||||The price is slightly more than the real budget offerings in town, but for this you get a spacious and very tidy room with high ceilings. The breakfast room is absolutely authentic and extremely peaceful.||||On this stay the wifi was free, which is a step forwards. Wifi access charges seem to be much more common in Germany than many other countries. It wasn't super fast but was mostly adequate.||||The location is a block or so from the main pedestrian street and a very short walk to the castle. It is a long but do-able walk to the train station if you want exercise.||||The slight weaknesses are that the hotel is on a moderate thoroughfare so can be a little noisy if you expect mountain silence, and the bathroom is function rather that smart. The room colours wouldn't be my choice. None of these are major faults though.||||As other reviewers have commented, the staff are friendly and helpful but not overbearing. I will certainly stay again....

The hotel was very good, I would give some good points:||1. The staff was very supportive, this is a family hotel, the couple were very sweet and very caring.||2. The hotel provide 5 star quality in 3 star hotel.||3. Rooms are big, clean, and great view from window.||4. The bus stop for bus 31, 32, 33 were just opposite to hotel. Therefore, easy to get transportation.||5. Very secure and safe place to stay, the owner of hotel were very nice people, they know how to treat people well. I really feel very good in their company.||6. The old city is treet to go, and it just close to hotel.||7. Wifi works fine, sometimes disconneted, overall, it is good. Although, I can not connect my macbook, howerer, windows pc connected successfully.||8. The working staff cleans hotel very quickly, the moment you take your breakfast, they will clean your room. ||9. The cost for this hotel was great, its really cheap and great stay.||10.
