Frittenwerk Heidelberg — Restaurant in Heidelberg

So I went here with a group of friends on the American Music Abroad: Stars and Stripes Tour of Europe in Hidelberg and we were just looking for something delicious to eat and this was definitely that. The loaded chips/fries here and the food here is absolutely top notch and spectacular. I got Chili Cheese Chips/Fries and a Orange Fanta and it was so good this meal and these fries absolutely made my day. I will say that you do want to be careful because seating is limited and during the day this place can get pretty crowded, so be mindful of that as you walk around Heidelberg. The service was amazing as well and we were able to communicate despite me not being able to speak German. So overall, absolutely great place and I would absolutely eat here and try the other options again. How this place has such a high rating of 4.5 or so stars, I don’t know. They sell overpriced, underwhelming french fries. Their „fein gehackte Tomaten“ were anything but finely chopped, they left out ingredients, they charge over triple the price of drinks found at a nearby shop, plus they charge the customer the Pfand for the bottles that the customer returns without refund to the restaurant, as if the drinks weren’t expensive enough. The whole place is essentially mechanised sloppiness. Greasy touchscreens to place your order and dirty tables and chairs to sit at. An assembly line for sloppily thrown together baskets of fries. The toilets were also dirty, and the toilet paper roll was partially damp and laying in the trash can. Gross.

Honestly i was just lookin to sit down somewhere, i walked in and to my horror everything looked straight out of the 2016 hipster streetfood era, prices were insane, tho that didnt even phase me at this point, but i didnt expect the fries to be shit, and i didnt expect ketchup would be an extra 90 cents, so i ate my shitty fries bone dry, while i was listening to the most annoying 10hour dj mix i have ever heard, out of some speakers that didn not produce a sound below 400hz, sounded like a phone speaker mounted to the ceiling cranked nice and loud.
