Gino’s — Restaurant in Heidelberg

We came accross Gino's by chance on our late night's walk. We were not on empty stomachs so we just ordered one Gino's special kebab to share between the two of us. Here the kebab was wrapped in a tortilla instead of the usual yufka flatbread and we liked it very much. We liked the perfect balance of the grilled meat, veggies and yoghurt sauce, not saulty and creamy which is very much to our taste. We also came back a second night to order exactly the same. And on our last day, we had to bring our children to show them our kebab discoveries. The chips were not our usual snack to order but we have 2 chip lovers in the family and they rated the crispy chips 9/10. Lastly, I have to give 5/5 stars to the staffs. For a fastfood eatery, out of the 3 times we visited, we were greeted very warmly by the staffs. Short encounter but nice ones. And last but not least, we love how the outdoor seats lend a perfect view to the end of the street where you can see the Karl Theodore's bridge's towers and part of the Heidelberg castle. We have been there for lunch on Sunday the 24th of November. Order was taken and a nice guy with very good English who told us to sit down outside and that the food would have been brought to our a table. In spite of that, after a few minutes the man on his 60s at the counter waves at me asking to collect the food...despite an employee beside there was not buy... I was not given a tray and I had to do two trips to bring the plates to my table!!! Food was ok but nothing special. When we were leaving the same man started to complain and moan because we did not return our plates to the counter inside!! Unbelievable ! Sorry, but we ended up being disappointed. It’s just not Mexican. The chicken is not Mexican style, it’s schwarma style. Taste was really messed up. Menu has some exotic Mexican dishes names. But it’s just not that what you would expect. Fries with menu with a ketchup was terrible taste. Pizza for kid was the most pathetic pizza we ever had in Germany. Burrito was nothing great either. You can give it a miss, walk around 200-300m you might find something close to Mexican. The Mexican relevance is deceptive. Two stars just for Chilled cola, which tasted definitely like...
