Imizu (previously iKoi) — Restaurant in Heidelberg

Bad service. This place nearly ruined a long awaited trip to Heidelberg. We walked in with 5 people they had many open tables. We stood there for several mins without a greeting or being seated, the host kept walking passed us purposely not acknowledging the fact that we were there. The salmon looked like it has been frozen and thawed 25 times and survived somehow. We were finally seated and given the wrong menus. A family came after us and were of Asian decent and were greeted and served immediately. The host came and snatched the menus out of our hands in a disrespectful manner and mumbled something and brought us actual menus. Then he left us for over 15mins without even getting to order drinks, meanwhile the family that came after us have already been served drinks and appetizers. We were still there like what is going on? Can we order? We got up and left and the host/owner said nothing but stood there and watched us walk out. Probably the most rude establishment I have visited. This establishment gives all of baden-wurtenberg a no-good name. The owner has absolutely zero family honor. Its a disgrace to the last name of the owner. They let us walk out without so much as an apology. Where is the adulthood? Clearly they treated Asians with preference against us...

I have never felt so cheated from a restaurant in my life. This was the worst sushi I have ever had. The cooks put small pieces of fish on top of the rolls and covered it with sauce hoping we wouldn't notice. Sushi was 90% rice and small portions of fish. I had so many bones in my salmon sashimi. They make you wait 10 mins in between orders (there is actually a timer). And when you order an order of a kind of sushi it only comes with what they feel like giving you. Sometimes 1 piece and sometimes 2 pieces. And then after your one mouthful you have to wait 10 mins. And you are only allowed to have 10 rounds of orders. I left here feeling extremely cheated especially because they didn't give you much fish, thinking we wouldn't notice. Ugh.... So mad just remembering this place. Terrible experience..... And I eat A LOT OF SUSHI. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS...

I often go there with friends because of the all-you-can-eat buffet. Considering the price, I think the quality is fair.

I wouldn't recommend going there when it's busy because it takes really long for the food to come and often times only half of your ordered food arrives. One time I went there with a date on a Sunday night which meant that I paid around 55€ for the all-you-can-eat buffet for both of us. Unfortunately the restaurant was sooo crowded that it took ages for our food to arrive, often times it got mixed up and we barely ate enough to make up for the price because the waiter/waitress hardly served our order.

I really like this place but they should consider hiring more cooks on...
