If I could do it, I would’ve given ZERO stars. I had the worst food experience at Raja Rani (Plöck). The Indian curry was watery, lacking any real flavor, and overloaded with artificial color to make it look appetizing—but it tasted like nothing! It was a complete waste of money. The quality of ingredients and preparation were far below expectations for an “Indian” restaurant.

On top of that, the service was appalling. The waiter was extremely rude, had no sense of hospitality, and didn’t even know how to serve or place plates properly. Instead of providing good service, he was more interested in acting over-smart with unnecessary and improper communication.

It’s clear that this place focuses more on catering to foreigners, particularly German customers, who might not be familiar with real Indian flavors and gives good tips to the servants—allowing them to get away with subpar food and service. If you’re looking for authentic Indian food, I strongly recommend going elsewhere. This place is a big NOOOOO from me!

I've noticed that in recent times, I've encountered situations where some people from Pakistan are concealing their true identity by claiming to be Indian. This has happened multiple times, whether in customer service settings like restaurants or in other contexts. For instance, in this particular place, I asked the receptionist and the waiter where they were from, and they told me they were from Punjab, India. However, when a German woman asked them the same question, they claimed to be from Pakistan. I don't understand why this is happening so frequently...

Worst Indian Food & Restaurant Experience! We visited this place for Indian Tea, some Snacks and Dinner. Even asking before even grabbing a seat in Restaurant, if they had Ginger tea to which they said yes, we were served with a Dip tea (not at all close to Indian Ginger Tea) with no or little milk and NO Ginger. Samosas are the ones we get as Frozen ones in Indian Supermarkets and rest of the food had nothing but a Lot & Lot of Red Chilly. We mentioned them very explicitly we are seeking authentic, tasteful Indian food and the result was additional Red Chilly Powder in every dish. Garlic Naan were worst, they were served without a single drop of Butter. So tough and dry to eat. On top of all the extra red Chilly Powder and Dried Garlic Naan, they do not serve you even with Normal Tap Water, and you need to order it too. Not at all recommended. Total waste of Money and Digestive system.

Recommendation to Staff - If you do not serve or provide the dishes (even Tea) as per the expectation or ask of Customer it would be good to let them know beforehand. Just saying yes and serving nothing close to what was asked is really really bad Money Making bluff. We could also make from your change in gesture before placing the order and after actually having it, not trying to catch up conversation to have honest...

I had a highly disappointing experience at this restaurant recently. From the moment we walked in, the staff's attitude was unwelcoming. We were greeted with indifferent looks and it felt like we were an inconvenience rather than valued customers.

The service throughout the meal was equally unfriendly. When we had questions about the menu, the server seemed annoyed and impatient, as if answering us was a chore. This rude behavior really dampened our dining experience.

As for the food, it did not make up for the poor service. The dishes were bland and lacked any distinctive flavor. The presentation was lackluster, and it was clear that minimal effort had gone into preparing the meals. We left most of the food uneaten because it was simply not enjoyable.

To top it off, when we voiced our concerns to the manager, hoping for some resolution or at least an apology, we were met with more rudeness and a dismissive attitude. It was clear that customer satisfaction was not a priority here.

Overall, this visit was a complete letdown. The unfriendly staff and subpar food make it hard for me to recommend this place to anyone. Save your time and money and look for a restaurant that values its customers and serves...

So, we checked out this Indian restaurant, and honestly… it was okay. It’s not that it was bad or anything, but we’ve definitely had better. The portions were on the smaller side, and considering the price, the overall taste and quality just didn’t quite hit the mark. We’ve had more flavorful dishes and bigger portions elsewhere for less money. That said, the staff was nice, which made the experience more pleasant. They were polite and welcoming, and the food came out pretty fast which is always a plus when you’re hungry. So yeah, it’s not a place we’d go out of our way for again, but it’s not terrible either. If you’re nearby and craving Indian food, it’s a decent option. But if you’re looking for something truly flavorful and filling, there are definitely better spots out there :)

A nice Indian restaurant in Heidelberg that offers dine in facility. It seems the restaurant is there since 1999, and so the furniture and ambience gives you that unique feeling of a cozy old Delhi restaurant. Food is nice. We tried Chicken Biryani, Karachi Murgh, Chicken Vindaloo, Lamb Rogan Josh, Mango/Banana/Jeera Lassi. The main course that we ordered were all.nice especially the chicken vindaloo. Lamb Rogan Josh is also recommended with Nan/Butter Nan. Biryani was ok but it's not my type as I am more used to less masala-more flavor type of biriyanis. I liked banana Lassi which gave me a much needed relief from the traditional mango Lassi that we order every time. The cost is also much affordable. For 5 person, we paid 94.5 which is highly reasonable.
