Goldener Anker GmbH — Restaurant in Heidelberg

My wife and I dined here during a recent overnight visit to Heidelberg. We briefly visited the Christmas Market, but knew we wanted something more substantial for my birthday dinner. We wandered up the streets until we found this Greek place. We were the first ones in, but we immediately saw many of the tables were reserved. This gave us a good feeling. The menu featured specialties of the house, pork, lamb, and fish dishes. The service was very attentive. We started out with some excellent octopus and gently pan fried eggplant. After we both had a salad, my wife enjoyed her amazing sea bass fish dish served with fries and rice while I devoured a pork specialty called Platamon, which was pork covered in a spicy cream sauce with French fries. We both enjoyed two glasses of Chardonnay and topped off our meal with a complimentary shot of Ouzo. Oopa is all I can say. What a fun and good...

Good atmosphere, friendly helpful staff, especially if you don't know German (our waitress translated both menus for us extremely helpful when there isn't an English menu). Lots of wine options, tapas, and main meals. We ordered the fillets of rumpsteak as tapas which was very nice. For our mains: Duck fillets with vegetables. European bass with a single prawn on top of risotto. 200g medium steak with bacon wrapped vegetables and potatoes.

Ein traumhaftes Lokal mit grandiosem Essen und tollem Service - absolute Empfehlung!

Ich war nun zum zweitem Mal im "Goldener Anker" und habe es nicht bereut. Der Empfang und Service durch einen der Pächter höchstpersönlich (Mario?) und seine Mitarbeiterin lässt kaum Wünsche offen, da merkt man die langjährige Erfahrung und den hohen Anspruch.

Alles was die Küche verlässt ist ein absoluter Genuß für den Gaumen. Jede einzelne der Tapas-Variationen (/Antipasti) ist wirklich hervorragend, toll abgeschmeckt und in sich absolut stimmig. Ein Muss ist die "Aioli" - unbedingt bestellen!

Obwohl sehr fisch- und fleischlastig, kommen auch Vegetarier aufgrund der zahlreichen Alternativen auf Ihre Kosten. Die hausgemachten Pilzgnocchi suchen ihresgleichen - absolut perfekt. Der Rest ist den Bildern zu entnehmen.

Das Lokal ist relativ klein aber sehr gemütlich. Wechselnde Kunst, die auch zu erwerben ist, schmückt die Wände. Die Musikauswahl ist vielleicht etwas fraglich, aber immerhin speziell :D

Sauberkeit ist top und Corona-Regeln werden eingehalten. Im Eingangsbereich gibt es Desinfektionsmittel für die Gäste.
