volle knolle. — Restaurant in Kassel

I heard about this restaurant all the way from London. Friends who visited Kassel said it is a place you MUST eat at! While travelling through Germany, I took it upon myself to visit the small town, and was delighted that I did. Not only is the town friendly, but the food was amazing. Especially Volle Knolle! The idea that you can make your own entire creation was the part I liked the most. You could choose from a variety of toppings to bring your own imagination to life. The only problem I had was that I could not finish it all... But then again having too much food in a restaurant is not something we complain about is it? :) Overall it was a perfect experience, and a definite must see if you are ever near that...

Maybe I had bad luck but: (1) there was no vegan option despite being the first customer of the day, which was quite surprising: the only ingredient to make the vegan option would be some kind of oil. (2) there are no suggested compositions of things. The composition I came up with ad-hoc did not taste at all. (3) card payment was not possible and they could not give me sufficient change in return.

I really enjoy having Kumpir in other places so I was a bit disappointed, especially about the dry (I picked the red vegan sauce)...

I've eaten couple of times in Volle Knolle while I was staying in Kassel, it was excellent staff are so friendly.
