The coffee was good but I gave 1 star because of the service. This place needs to learn that food and service go hand in hand.
The individual behind the counter who served me (the lady with a cap) is extremely unfriendly and unwelcoming. It’s almost as if it’s a huge trouble to respond. The least you should do is politely smile or respond in a way that doesn’t make the person feel like they are a bother to you.
I am not sure if there is a racist tinge to the behaviour of the staff (I am visibly not Caucasian). It’s a shame as this place is close to where I’m staying and does have good stuff on the menu, I’ll go to the cafe opposite this one where I have experienced much more decency. I note from reviews that I am not the first person who has commented on the behaviour of the staff and from the responses of the management, it does look like they care but it’s a shame that not much has been done about it.
