I am very surprised by the 4-star reviews. Not sure if these come from people who’ve never had authentic mexican/hispanic food before or if they were paid by someone to give those reviews. First of all, there is nothing “fresh” about the fresh guac. It was dark colored and tasted like store-bought guac. Real guac has at least pieces of onion, cilantro, and tomatoes, and is more of a bright green color when it is fresh. This was just a cream, nothing else. If you’ve been to Subway and you’ve seen the guac they use that comes from a tube, then you’ll understand what i’m talking about. Second, the chilli in the chilli tacos tasted more like a stew. Kind of like canned chilli. We also ordered the chips and salsa. The chips looked like doritos (which is not a bad thing) and they tasted like they had either cumin or curry. However, The salsa and the sour cream were disappointing. Food aside, the service was fantastic. But still, i would not recommend this restaurant IF you’re looking for the authentic taste. I know its hard to find “authentic” in a different country, but this was just...
Read moreI had high hopes based on the reviews here...but this place is an absolute disappointment. As a native of Texas from a family of chefs, I can state with confidence that this is poor quailty Tex-Mex. The food is bland, over-sauced and without creativity. Portions are ridiculously oversized and nothing is remotely healthy despite its blandness.
Service is friendly and good, relatively quick and competent, but the kitchen and recipes are borderline incompetent. Not recommended if you seek Mexican, Tex-Mex, healthy...or quality food in Munich. Drinks are made well, but overpriced.
Having lived here in Munich for several years, I have tried every Tex-Mex restaurant in town... without naming one here, I can say confidently that there are many better choices.
A first for me in over 8 years of writing reviews on Google to help others, the restaurant challenged my initial review as "unfair". Clearly they currate here to keep the reviews in their favor. Don't...
Read moreFirst impressions walking in we found the atmosphere/decoration welcoming and a nice vibe. Music throughout the evening was great and not too loud. Service was also good and we were attended to well. The food and drink menus were very large which gave lots of choice however this may have impacted the food quality. We ordered taquitos starter, mixed grill main, and churros to share. Meat and churros were cooked very well and we thoroughly enjoyed, however the taquitos and fries were fried for too long as overcooked. Drinks also were nice although a little expensive so make sure you go during happy hour. Overall, we found it a little expensive as really only ordered 2 drinks each and shared one complete course and it came to 80eur, however still had a very nice time. There were little touches missing such as we had to ask for menus, it was quite warm inside and the bench seating is leather so became a little uncomfortable with the heat. Overall, nice...
