Nice vibes, friendly staff--but the food did n't wow me. Yuca fries were fine, the Dadinhos bland, and the ceviche with chipotle and pickles left me confused (and still hungry). Taco was tasty but dripping in fat, and that bitter chili showed up again. Drinks? Okay. Bill? €80. Portions? Snack-sized. Left wondering if missed the WOW moment... or if it just wasn't there.
*Update: I deleted it because I use my mom account, and that was an honest mistake for sure, I wanted to give you a more detailed feedback of what I felt, I put a 2 as I do believe the staff and ambience was good. Definitely not a place for me (obviously), but a place were students can chill and have some drinks with small snacks. I do believe it is overpriced, not for the ingredients but I do believe you can have better food (and mean not only fried food) on the same range. I am demanding when it comes to food and I try for me not eat so much of these deep fried stuff, I do believe that Latin food has much more to offer than that. I don't like this special chili you used, for me it can give the food a bitter taste, but I guess happens the same for some people with koriander. And yes I was angry, because I was hungry and I had not so much to eat and yet I thought I could have a proper meal which for me was not the case. And I yes, as I said at that moment, for me it was a catastrophe, as I had much higher expectations, I do still have a bitter taste but it will pass but even after it passes I don't believe I would recommend it for my friends. And be chill, not everyone has...
Read moreFirst of the place is cute and the food and drinks are good - finally a place with great Mexican food in Munich - however, the service is completely incompetent or they are severely understaffed. It took the waiter 30 min to bring us the drinks menu once we were seated, we had our drinks approx. 1 hour after arriving at the restaurant (I get that drinks need to be mixed, but not even the water we ordered arrived). It took 2 hours to get some food because the waiter did not take our order for 1,5 hours, and then I arrived one by one. Imagen having 5 hungry people at the table and everybody gets 2 yuca fries and then has to wait another 10 minutes for the next dish to arrive. This is not how a Sharing concept is supposed to work.
The quality of the service does not justify the high prices (even if the food is good). They did to get their act together (spoke to a friend that had been there several weeks ago and she just went “oh yeah, they are...
Read moreEl Tato is one of the best restaurants in Munich. They have some very nice drinks and a very welcoming service.
The food is my main reason to come back, and food and drinks in Munich at the same time is a hard find.
They recently added "dadinhos" which are a great tri dimentional manioc based Brazilian food, which are great for the gluten free folks, Brazilian people and anybody that would like to eat things shaped like a cube.
Honestly you would be hard pressed to find anything bad on the menu.
The place is small specially when they don't have a patio, so try to reserve if you can although they mainly take...
