We were an English family of six who arrived 6.30pm Thursday 13th April. The staff spoke excellent English and we were seated straight away.
The seating is very odd as the benches are shared with the next table, so your back can touch the backs of the people on the next table, not particularly comfortable.
The service was slow, but it was very busy. We ordered drinks and food (I had the vollmundig burger and shared the 1 pound of fries with my son, my daughter ordered the kids vegan bites with fries)
I expected the drinks to come first.
However the 1 pound of fries and my daughter's meal turned up FIRST then after 7 mins we were served our drinks and ANOTHER 7 mins for the burgers !!
So by this time my daughter's meal which she was politely waiting to eat and the 1 pound of fries were going cold!! Not impressed.
My burger was nothing special, when I have a burger you think it's going to be nice and juicy but it was very dry and lacked seasoning and essentially boring to eat, fries were ok but lacked seasoning.
(Note to the management : We had previously eaten an Absolutely awesome burger in Garmisch partnichen at Shaka burger house, I politely suggest you try their menu, replicate it ages they're service and then you'll be the best burger house...
Read moreIt was really exciting walking in and seeing all the trees inside the dining area. It gave a magical forest vibe. We didn't have a reservation but didn't have to wait too long before getting seats in the upstairs area. We initially got German menus but the waiter exchanged them when we asked. The menu had a huge selection of burgers with different types of meats as well as a large selection of vegetarian and vegan ones. They also had meal (evening or lunch) which has sides and drinks attached to it. It costs burger price + extra, we only read extra cost and were surprised at the cheque at the end. The burgers were quite nice, fairly small but tasty. Having the sides were good. The fries were nice and crispy. The drinks (of which there was also a large selection) was also quite nice. They were quite busy and the bit we were in wasn't at the time so it was hard to get someone to order. We also came in with a pram but had to leave it in the atrium due to the lack of space in the dining area. I also found the music a bit loud so it was hard to maintain a conversation. It was almost club like. Overall it was quite a nice dinner. We didn't know it was a chain until we saw one in Nuremberg, including the...
Read moreToday probably wasn’t the best day to eat at Hans im Glück because of the crowd. Some of the things I like about this place were completely off. Consistency in the quality of food and drinks is one of their strengths. Be it any city or any branch, the taste and quality remains. But today everything was bad. One could probably live with that but the attitude of the staff was highly unprofessional and it seemed like it was being run by a group of adolescent teenagers. The staff’s behavior could be documented as one of the worst examples of how an eatery should be run. We were asked how the food was and when we gave them the feedback they replied back saying they don’t care. Almost as if the question was asked with the intention to mock. Hans im Glück has lost it’s standing!
P.S. Ask for a bill at all Hans im Glücks they are bound by law to provide it but they only give you a transaction slip and try to save a trip to the counter. And they expect a tip for...
