We stopped by in Rocca Riviera accidentally and proceeded to have a few cocktails. The service was great and the cocktails were absoulutely delicious. Then we decided to move from inside to the outside area, this was a mistake that ruined our whole experience at the restaurant. The two men who were working outside were extremely rude, one of them called himself a "Manager", Honestly? He doesn't have any skills for a management role. One of his staff members who was working outside was very rude too. This is exactly what he learned from his "manager", to be rude to his clients. We asked to have a table outside, this happened around 9-10pm. They had plenty of free tables. The servant and his "manager" told us that we can not have a table, even though we had cocktails in our hands, because tables outside are for people who want to have a dinner apparently. They allowed us to finish our drinks that were not cheap next to the outside service area. We were lost for words. This is an outrage in my opinion and not acceptable service, we spent over €150 euros on drinks by the way. We were guests in the restaurant and a few staff members who were working outside treated us with no respect. I wanted to give this place 5 stars before we moved to the outdoor area but unfortunately I can't because of the rude staff members who were serving tables outside and their disrespectable behavour to their customers....
Read moreTerrible service, we arrived there at 2:20pm and were turned away, despite their website saying they close at 3pm. The head waiter begrudgingly let us in after we complained that we walked all the way there and just wanted a drink. Despite the rude welcome (or lack thereof), I must admit that their cocktails were very good. Their Old Fashioned was properly done and I also enjoyed their Negroni, it tasted just right and was nicely presented with a round large ice cube, always a good sign when a venue has these ice cubes.
I was very excited to check out Rocca Riviera since the photos online looked amazing but the reality felt like a luxury bakery, there was just something lacking to make it feel sexy, but maybe it is also because we were there during daytime and not at night. They have obviously spent a lot of money on the furnishings but unfortunately the service we experienced was really not befitting of such a venue as they were changing lamps in the middle of our stay (which was during official hours) and when we left there were snide remarks made about us leaving. I would not be inclined to go back as there are better places in Munich with better...
Read moreThey took a long time to bring the menu. At first, they only brought the cocktail list and didn’t offer the wine list at all. None of the waiters knew the WiFi password. They brought out a snack (which was later added to the bill, although it looked like a complimentary appetizer). We waited an hour for the main menu. The steak was served rare, even though we only eat well-done — and no one asked us in advance about the preferred option . The truffle fries… were just laughable: overcooked packaged fries with some strange seasoning on top and dry truffle shavings. Definitely not what you’d expect for 18 euros. To top it off, it was my birthday — which had been mentioned both during the table reservation and directly to the hostess. She did nothing and completely ignored it. After each course, the cutlery was placed directly on the table without any proper setting. There were many more moments that ruined the evening. A complete disappointment. I had a much better opinion of this place. In a place where the bill for two exceeds 130 euros, the service, hospitality, and quality should be at the highest level — which was definitely not...
