Our Personal Experiences
Our visits to Rechthaler Hof have always been memorable. We’ve celebrated significant occasions here, including the birthday of my brother-in-law and our farewell meal after a research stint at LMU. Despite being familiar with the Hofbräuhaus beers from the Oktoberfest, experiencing them in the authentic setting of Rechthaler Hof added a new dimension to our appreciation.

Yesterday me and two friends went to the restaurant to have a calm late evening meal and enjoy our time, but sadly the middle aged waiter had other plans for us, as soon as we got seated it was absolutely obvious to us that he had no intention to serve well and do his job efficiently. When the bill finally came, we wanted to separate it so each of us pays exactly for what he got, but no the waiter didn’t like it at all and started throw a fit as if we wanted to do something forbidden or rude, but no we just wanted to pay our bill and go home, because our night was absolutely ruined by his unpleasant attitude towards us. At the end when we were about to leave he started even arguing with us and raising his voice and literally threw a tantrum, which made us feel threatened by him. It’s so sad to see a grown up human being act as unpleasant and unprofessional as he did. And not to mention that when ever we tried to order something he would repeat the sentence: “ich habe keine Zeit, ich habe andere Gäste.” But at the end it was okay for him to argue with us for over 5 minutes. If you can’t handle the pressure of a job just quit already because people come and pay to eat and have some fun, not to be shouted at by an...
Read moreVisiting Munich for five nights and one of our dinner plans fell through so we were looking for an alternate. We were staying at the Charles Hotel close by and saw that this beer hall had some solid reviews and was a short walk away. Germany is not famous for it’s manners so we weren’t surprised when the man behind the counter was not very polite when we entered and waited to be sat, but our waiter was very polite and made up for it. It’s very large on the inside, quite noisy, and was filled with very large groups. We were a couple and did not feel out of place, rather it was fun to people watch. The pricing is very fair and the portion sizes are large. They have a giant drink menu as well but I chose the lager our waiter recommended and loved it, so much so that I got two.
For my dinner, I chose the sausage combo plate, which was a mix of four different sausages and honestly, each of them was great. I especially like the spicy one, but, I ate all four of them pretty quickly. This place is very casual, but also very lively and a fun place to stop in when in Munich. I would recommend to any traveler, as well as...
