If I'm going to be really honest, Uyghur food induces a very unique feeling, personally: It feels like trying out a new, unique experience, yet simultaneously gives a very familiar feeling. To add to that, the cuisine itself utilizes techniques that not many people can do it to preserve authenticity, and so, got to try Kashgar Uyghur. So far, I'll admit the experience was a rather lovely one. To clear some confusion regarding the layout of the restaurant itself, it is located on the floor above where you can enjoy the cuisine; the first floor is where you can grab a quick Döner and other fast food. Given the love for how exquisite the cuisine is, a reservation is absolutely recommended, especially if you are planning to spend some time there on a weekend! The place can get really crowded, and it's no surprise why. The menu is what you can expect Uyghur cuisine to be: flavorfully diverse. If you're someone who enjoys Central Asian, or East Asian cuisine, or BOTH for the matter, it's a treat. Given that I had previously tried Laghman, it was time to challenge myself a little further and ordered a bowl of Dapanji (or, in Uyghur language, toxu qordiqi). And to be honest, it did feel a little surprising as that dish is usually for groups, but they had an option for solo, too! And because how can I say no to barbecue, I got some kawap skewers on the side and some Lung Bai Cha as a compliment to a chilly evening. As a side note, it's tantalizing to dip kawap pieces in Dapanji soup, like sauce đ The food actually felt that it was prepared with love, and the ingredients that were used to prepare the dishes felt fresh. And for a cold night, what's better than some warm soul food, right? And I was honestly surprised with the prices, given how most eateries in Munich have their options priced; in all fairness, for the portion sizes served, the prices felt really fair for something that isn't fast food. To summarize this, if you're into halal East Asian food, and actually want to try something new while also having a deja vu, Uyghur food is for you, and props to the restaurant for having it all covered, from the food to the service...
Read morePlease donât go there! Not only is the interior of the restaurant structured in a bad way (the tables are all squeezed together in corners and itâs quite uncomfortable and narrow to sit and walk around there), the toilets are dirty and small as well and the toilet paper was all used up, there was not even any soap and the sinks to wash hands are outside in the corridor, the doors of the 2 toilet rooms can also not be closed and must be hold by hand so no one can enter. But most importantly though, we ordered a small potion of noodles to take away since the small restaurant was packed with people and absolutely no tables were free and they told us it will take 10 minutes, but after waiting around 50 minutes without even getting any seats offered nor any information (not even after personally asking them) on our food and how much longer it will take, all we got is ignorance and a terrible attitude in exchange, as well as a waiting time of almost 1 hour for some simple noodle dishes that only take like 10-15 minutes to cook. We also saw how they cooked and packaged it and they definitely donât do it with love and in my opinion also not that clean. They also didnât add any paper nor chopsticks or any other type of cutlery and even got mad and pissed at us when we asked them for some. After finally getting our food and eating it, we noticed it was cold and the taste was quite average. We paid almost 30⏠for that, it was definitely not worth it and I highly suggest to not go there unless you want your day ruined and your time wasted. Theyâre also highly racist towards Chinese people and donât have any respect. We even overheard how they talked about that they ran out of ingredients and their way to solve this was âJust leave it out, the customers are foreigners, they wonât know this dish and wonât notice any difference.â Oh and after eating their food, we ended up having a stomachache, a stomachache so bad, that we had to run to the toilet. Do i have to say more? A really terrible restaurant to be...
Read moreFirst of all, it's a Halal Chinese Restaurant.
Let's come to the food. The food is very good. We ordered the noodles, chicken wok curry and fried rice. We liked all the items. The staff are good and friendly. No complaints regarding the food and service.
The location is a bit tricky, the restaurant is on the second floor and there is a Donner shop downstairs. So, make sure you don't end up in the Donner shop. Also, it is highly recommended to reserve before going as the place is always highly crowded and even after reservation, we had to wait for almost 10 minutes.
Now, the only thing that we didn't like was the atmosphere. There were a lot of people and obviously Chinese people. Maybe this was just one time or it was bad luck for us, there was one group who were talking extremely loudly and almost shouting while cracking jokes. It became kind of unbearable and we requested to switch our seats. Still, the whole place was buzzing and for some reason people were very loud. Maybe, that's the norm of the place but if you want to spend some quiet little time, this is surely not the place. However, if you are going with a group of friends and want to spend some good time gossiping and chatting, you will enjoy your time đ.
Regarding the price, it's a bit on the higher side with each main dish ranging between 20-30 euros. They accept...
