ATHINA Οινομαγειρείον — Restaurant in Athens

I stumbled onto this place by chance and did not regret it! Not only that it’s a very humble & affordable place, but also the food was terrific. Easily one of the best places to get food that I had during my stay in Greece for four weeks. When I returned for the second time, the menu changed, so it’s not a fixed menu, but both times it was delicious. There’s no English menu, but the waiter will tell you what they have for the day. I got the lemon pork with mashed potato and stuffed pepper for about 10 euros the first time. The second time, I got stir-fried Greek sausages with mashed potato and chicken meatball soup for about 11 euros. It was absolutely lovely, and the portion was huge despite the price (considering the place is near the city center, where food is usually a bit more expensive). I definitely recommend this place, especially if you are visiting the National Archaeological Museum & Museum of Ancient Greek Technology, which are nearby. One thing to note is it is a very small place, with only four small tables, so plan accordingly and try to avoid peak hours or get it for takeaway (I went at 12 pm and 12.30 pm and got the last table...

Μετά τη βόλτα στο λόφο του Λυκαβηττού, κατεβαίνοντας τα σκαλάκια της ομώνυμης οδού κι αφού προσπέρασα τον ναό του Αγίου Διονυσίου μια ευχάριστη έκπληξη με περίμενε. Το οικογενειακό μαγειρείο "ATHINA" στο νούμερο 6 της οδού Λυκαβηττού. Όμορφα διακοσμημένο, με λίγα τραπεζάκια στην ξύλινη εσοχή της πολυκατοικίας, μια γλυκειά γωνίτσα για χαλάρωση μετά τις δουλειές ή τη βόλτα σας. Το σημαντικότερο, όμως, ήταν το νοστιμότατο φαγητό. Ζεστό σπιτικό φαγητό που με ντελίβερυ διακινείται στην γειτονιά και σε μεγάλη ακτίνα του κέντρου της Αθήνας από το μεσημέρι έως νωρίς το βράδυ. Μπορείς ασφαλώς να το γευτείς κι εκεί. Τα παιδιά - ιδιοκτήτες του καταστήματος, ευγενικοί, εξυπηρετικοί και γρήγοροι. Περιποιημένες μερίδες από φρέσκα υλικά με ποικιλία που καλύπτει όλες τις διατροφικές συνήθειες. Μην παραλείψετε να δοκιμάσετε οπωσδήποτε τις νοστιμότατες σούπες και τις χειροποίητες χωριάτικες πίτες τους. Μπορείτε να συνδυάσετε το φαγητό με ένα ποτήρι κρασί ή μπύρα. Το συνιστώ ανεπιφύλακτα. Ιδανικό μεσημεριανό φαγητό για εργαζόμενους, κατοίκους, περαστικούς και τουρίστες (ιδιαίτερα όσων διαμένουν σε airbnb). Δοκιμάστε το εκεί ή πάρτε το πακέτο μαζί σας ή παραγγείλετε να έρθει στον χώρο σας. Σίγουρα ήταν κάτι που έλειπε στη γειτονιά. Συγχαρητήρια στα παιδιά - ιδιοκτήτες.

After the walk on the hill of Lycabettus, going down the steps of the street of the same name and after passing the temple of Agios Dionysios, a pleasant surprise awaited me. The family kitchen "ATHINA" at number 6 Lykavittou Street. Beautifully decorated, with a few tables in the wooden recess of the apartment building, a sweet corner for relaxing after work or your walk. Most importantly, however, was the delicious food. Home-made food that is delivered in the neighborhood and in a large radius of the center of Athens from noon to early evening. You can certainly taste it there too. The guys - owners of the store are kind, helpful and fast. Refined portions of fresh ingredients with a variety that covers all eating habits. Be sure to taste their delicious soups and handmade country pies. You can combine the food with a glass of wine or beer. I highly recommend it. Perfect lunch for workers, residents, passers by and tourists (especially those staying in airbnb). Taste it there or take the package with you, or order it to come to your place. Been eating at restaurant for more than a week and this resto was a great break from it all! The home cooked lunch was super good! I got the beef with rice and it was tender.
