During our recent visit to Athens, we had the pleasure of dining at Callas in the charming Thissio neighborhood, and I can't recommend it highly enough! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere captivated us. The restaurant boasts a warm and inviting ambiance, blending traditional Greek charm with contemporary touches. It’s the perfect setting for a delightful meal, whether you’re there for a casual dinner or a special occasion. Now, let’s talk about the food! We opted for a variety of meat dishes, and they were nothing short of spectacular. Each bite was bursting with flavor, showcasing the essence of Mama’s cuisine. The care and expertise that went into each dish were truly evident, making for a memorable culinary experience. The service at Callas was equally impressive. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, contributing to the overall welcoming vibe of the restaurant. They were eager to make recommendations and ensure that we had everything we needed for an enjoyable meal. In summary, Callas in Thissio is a gem that combines exceptional food, a wonderful atmosphere, and top-notch service. Read moreI was sceptical. The place is in a very touristy area, BUT damn its good.
I was traveling alone and they made me feel welcome the moment I came across the door. Nice table inside (was a bit chilly outside) and two very friendly waiters taking care of me.
The food was a delight ... i had the tomato salad with goat cheese. Although I am not a big fan of goat cheese, this one was mild, creamy and savoury. It went perfectly with the zucchetti, cucumber and pine nuts. The main course was their veal dish with airy mashed potato and red wine sauce - let me sum this up: I almost licked the plate it was that good.

Besides that it's worth it, well done & not a...
Read moreBest dinner of my life, full stop. For appetizers we had grilled calamari and pork bao buns. Calamari was perfectly tender and the bao buns had a great mixture of textures. Main courses were glazed veal cheeks and sofrito lamb. The airy potato cream was absolutely full of flavour and "air". The veal was yummy. The lamb was delicate and cooked just right and its sauce was nice with garlic and a perfect balance of citrus. The Greek mpougatsa dessert was out of this world and I can't find words too described. Cocktails were excellent and we also had the privilege to taste a couple of them off the new upcoming menu. Service was accommodating and happy. Thank you Callas gastro bar for crowning our day after a great day at Acropolis and...
